Coppock's Kenpo Karate Academy - formerly known as American Kenpo Karate School - has been a martial arts institution in Colorado Springs since 1983. We teach Ed Parker's American Kenpo Karate under the leadership of Senior Master John Sepulveda and we are governed by his organization, Advanced Kenpo Training System.
Martial Arts have been an amazing tool for teaching children to become more focused, confident, and disciplined for over 2,000 years! This helps them get better grades, have higher self-esteem, improves health & fitness, and teaches them to defend themselves. Our Colorado Springs Kids Martial Arts program will help your child reach their full potential.

After all, these are children we're dealing with here. And kids love their fun. We do a variety of games and activities that have kids howling with laughter, and constantly smiling. We work hard here - but we play just as hard. A: Martial arts can be challenging at times, especially when we focus and concentrate intently.
Many people walk through the doors of my school for the first time and think that martial arts is just about punching and kicking. This may surprise you, but there is so much more to it. Our goal at Coppock's Kenpo Karate Academy is to use martial arts as a vehicle to inspire kids to be more confident and focused in their daily activities.

I signed my 5 kids up at American Kenpo Karate and am so pleased with it! The instructor, a sixth degree black belt, David Coppock, is an absolutely amazing instructor and great with the kids. I can't imagine there is a more qualified instructor in Colorado Springs. All of my kids were reluctant to try Karate and all of them were sold after the first lesson. They get in their exercise, learn discipline and self-defense, and are making new friends. In addition to learning how to defend one's self in real-life situations, Mr. Coppock encourages his students to make good grades, obey their parents

I have my 4 yr old son signed up for their little dragons class and he loves it! Looks forward to it every week. I have been grateful for it also as they have a great structure and really encourage self control and discipline and my son has really needed that lately. Mr. Coppock is so patient with the kids and is very kind. As long as we're in Colorado, my son will be a part of his karate class.

I started training at AKKS when I was 34 years old. That was back in 2008. I was new to karate and never really knew what I was getting myself into. I lacked self confidence when I started which has now changed drastically for the better. Not just self confidence to be able to protect myself and my family but self confidence with everything that I do in life (family, friends and work). This past weekend, I received my 1st Degree Black Belt (a dream of mine since I was a child). It was the toughest thing I have ever done in my life. If you are looking to train at a karate school to give you the
