Makes unauthorized charges to your credit card months after you stay there without even notifying you. Will also email you only a few hours before check in to inform you that you cant check anymore until a few hours later and wont compensate you for the missed time. 10 outta 10 DO NOT recommend. The General manager as well as the front desk person Evon are as rude as they are disrespectful. They will not let you speak. Will tell you that you are wasting their time. Will belittle you multiple times and rub their salary in your face. Glad all their calls are recorded because im pursuing someone over

The Knickerbocker is located in the center of all that is Milwaukee. It is close to great restaurants, museums, and even the Milwaukee Kayak Company and Milwaukee Public Market. Our room was classic and reflected a time when you could actually open the window to get fresh air (fourth floor). I'd recommend it to all.

My friend and I booked a room recently for two nights, prepaying fully for both nights in advance. We unfortunately couldn't make it the first night as our flight heading out to Milwaukee was cancelled due to severe weather. We spent the majority of that night on the phone with the airlines trying to figure out alternative flights for the next day.
When we arrived at the hotel the following day and got to our hotel, no one was actually at the hotel reception for the first ten mins of our being there. When the one person on staff finally turned up, she informed us that because we didn&apos

Mr Larry Robe your response to my review was filled with slander and falsehood. I am 1000% sure that your camera will show and proof the evidence. What 8 women are you referring to? When I entered the premises alone with my Animal? He was on leash and attached to me the entire time. Psychology? You have continued to repeatedly insult and degrade me. I have endured tremendous disrespect and poor customer service from You Mr. Robe. This could have been resolved with kindness and respect. I would not recommend anyone to visit Knickerbocker on the Lake especially if they own a Animal. Good Luck.

9/10 WOULD RECOMMEND! Lobby is so classy and well kept. I travel for work often and AJ is by far the BEST concierge I've come across. He was so genuinely kind and welcoming, it felt like I had a run in with a childhood friend! He went above and beyond helping me carry in my child and our belongings & gave us some excellent restaurant options. Room was gorgeous. Kitchen was a huge plus. Only reason for 9 and not 10 is apparently residents are allowed to smoke inside thier apartment which kind of fills the halls. But luckily it didn't penetrate mine.

First visit to Milwaukee. Loved the city for the green space, museums, and architecture. MOST disappointed in Knickerbocker on the Lake For several reasons. The hotel is not "on the Lake" nor is the lake in view; while historical it is not well maintain d beyond the lobby; rooms have "kitchenettes" squeezed into a space 3 ft from the foot of the bed and included greasy cookware; the bed may have been there since it's 1929 opening with non-existent pillow filling; window air conditioner sounded like a truck starting; televisions and voices from next rooms easily heard; actual

Very disappointed in the Knickerbocker's handling of the block reservation for our wedding weekend. After deciding to change dates, confirming those dates, amount of rooms and rates with the Knickerbocker and being told I would have a contract to sign at the end of the day, I never received said contract and instead days later received an email from management saying they aren't taking block reservations and will not send me a contract.

Booked 2 rooms for summer events but had to cancel today due to cancellation from Covid19. Was told the one room could not be cancelled because I booked it as nonrefundable. I can understand that, but if it is beyond a person's control, a refund should be honored. Everyone else has had no problem refunding our money.
I asked the desk person to speak to a manager about this issue. Next thing I know she was gone and a voice mail came on. Will never book there again.

My girlfriend and I had stayed here this past weekend for a friend's birthday weekend trip to Milwaukee. We're so glad we did!
The hotel is in a great neighborhood that is only a 5-10 minute drive to the Third Ward District and downtown MKE. The hotel is older and not entirely up to date but the pricing and location is what mattered to us. We will stay again when we return to Milwaukee!

Dated and not well-kept (our room was very dusty and musty). Decent size and nice location, but otherwise I don't have much great to say. On the second day, we reported a strong, rotten stench in our room -- front desk confirmed that multiple others on our floor had called in about the same, yet the source remained a mystery. It smelled like decay. They sprayed our room with "deodorizer" but that did little, as the issue was not originating in our room. It was honestly nauseating and kind of creepy. Later that night, we found maintenance drilling down the door of the room next to

Boy this hotel should be called the Conundrum as it's hard to describe. I stayed to attend a concert in town and took a roll of the dice with Hotwire as the price was better than most hotels in the Milwaukee area. At $75-100 bucks this hotel is a no brainer but for the $150 I paid I feel a bit foolish. It was built in 1929 and the lobby exudes charm of that era. However beyond the lobby, you get dark hallways. In the rooms you get a mish mosh of decoration. Green and black bathrooms with short sinks and toilets and a shower that you almost do a balancing act on as they have some kind

The rooms here are super spacious and give a home feeling.
However, my friend who had the room under her name said she had a bad interaction with the desk woman. Parking was sold out at the hotel and she wasn't too keen on finding us a plausible solution as to where we should go.
If you stay here, make sure to reserve parking ahead of time.

Some of the reviews on here are a little extreme . Let me start off by saying this is an old hotel . We came in for the weekend and I would compare it to the Congress hotel In Chicago. It's older, antique, etc. obviously the air is not central air, the locks on the doors are old fashioned locks, the elevator is older.
Overall, it was fine. Room was clean with fresh towels, makeup wipes, soap, etc Location was good and close to everything, there was a parking lot for $18 a night which was convenient. The room was fine. I wouldn't recommend it for a honeymoon by any means but if you

I stayed here after flying into Milwaukee and although initially the check-in staff was less than helpful, some staff were better and the accommodations were reasonable for the value. Here's my complaint: I had a bad fall and sprained my ankle coming in the back door from the parking lot. After using my hotel key to open the door, I stepped inside and there was a single step down immediately after the threshold. There was NO warning and I went down hard on a cement floor. This was the first day of our trip for a family reunion.
The guy who helped us check in was not interested, however

I chose The Knickerbocker hotel based on the location and how great the pictures looked . We arrived after 3 (the required check in time) and were checked in quickly to room 809. This is where the problems started. We got all of our luggage to the 8th floor and found that room 809 had not been cleaned yet. After getting all of our stuff downstairs the desk clerk took about 10 minutes to find us another room. We got up to room 330 and realized that it wasn't the Junior Suite with a King bed like we paid for. We called downstairs and the clerk said she'd attempt to find us another room

What would have been a very nice stay was ruined by very poor customer service. My wife called the morning of our stay to inquire about parking. Staff assured my wife parking would be available. Upon arrival a dismissive staff member told her she was too late and the lot was full. He offered her no suggestions on what to do. When she asked he said park on the street and try again early in the morning. That's exactly what we want to do... get up early on our weekend away. Then he told my wife there was a ramp 5 blocks away and offered no directions. You can have the best hotel in the world

Nice vintagey hotel in Milwaukee. The room was cute, and it was nice to have a sink, tiny stove, and real glasses for our drinks! This was a no frills place- no free breakfast included. Also, what was really annoying is that the parking costs $18 a day... BUT it was sold out. The street parking is only for a few hours. We couldn't find anywhere to park!! We ended up parking at a hotel garage over a mile away and taking an Uber back. Pretty much the opposite of convenient.
The nice part was we were walking distance to a lot of great bars, restaurants, and breweries so we put in a lot of footwork

We stayed here one nightand enjoyed ourselves. Since we arrived later in the evening all the street parking was taken and we had to pay $18 to park in their lot. Many hotels in Milwaukee charge much more so we were ok with it
The room was very unique, see my photos, with a small kitchen area as well as an eating area and desk. The bathroom is very small, the toilet paper roll is RIGHT NEXT to the toilet to the point where you have to lean a little bit to unroll it.
We decided Thursday to stay in Milwaukee Friday night so we got a pretty good price for the room. We weren't looking for anything

I love this old historic condo/hotel building, it's got such unique character. The support staff is great, the location is so convenient, it's a good choice for an extended stay. The bar is nice, friendly, and it's rather secure. Same problems of parking as the rest of downtown near the lake. The doors are early 20th century, a two way valet compartment so you can leave your suit for dry cleaning, I don't think they have that service any more and Juneau Village Drycleaning is a short walk down Juneau but it's just an example of the old architecture and design that I
