La Cabaa Restaurant was a long awaited dream that turned into reality by Selvin Oseguera and family in 2015. Before deciding to open a new restaurant featuring Latin cuisine, Selvin and family spent more than 20 years working in all facets of the restaurant industry. And they did this successfully!
He and family members decided because of their love of people and good food, they would venture into owning their own restaurant that showcased their flare for cooking Central American cuisine. With time, they hope to make La Cabaa Restaurant a Northwest family tradition.

I love this place! I eat here at least once a month. I get pastelitos with ground beef or taquitos fritos. Everything here is legit! Pupusas are 100%. Chorizo pupusa has to be my favorite. I also recommend the baliadas. Honestly, you'll enjoy anything you get on the menu. Lunch is pretty busy, especially on the weekends but service is good and the portions are decent sized.

Pollo Frito (Honduras)
The dish is made with a quarter of a chicken deep fried served with slices of green banana, pickled cabbage and our special dressing. @grayseas
Thanks for recommending it. Bomb!
Pupusas (El Salvador)
A traditional Salvadorian hand made savory corn (masa) stuffed with a filling of cheese (whatever meat you prefer)
Molcajete (specialty of the house, with so much good stuff going on)

Excellent foods! I ordered the El Casado and I was very impressed. Every piece of the dish had flavors and was very tasty and satisfying. The flavors were just right, not over or under seasoned. Highly recommended!
I was most impressed with the rice. It was jasmine rice cook with chicken stock and had vegetables in it. It was rice with flavors but not over seasoned and still served as a fantastic balancer of the dish.
The cabbage was pickled and the pico de gallo was lightly seasoned.
The fried plantains was crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth soft on the inside.
The grilled chicken

I've had a craving for mesoamerican food for a while now and yesterday while perusing Friday night takeout options in the vicinity, La Cabana popped up from a previous Yelp bookmark in my Seattle collection. My daughter and I were in the neighborhood because (YIPPEE!!!) she was finally able to get her first Covid vaccination at the nearby UW Med NW Vaccine Clinic. We had quite a long time in the clinic as I was last-minute also able to get my booster. We spent an hour longer than expected, and hangriness was definitely starting to kick in.

This place is awesome. The serving sizes are super generous; shockingly so. I've eaten here a handful of times at this point and its become one of my favorites in Seattle. The food is authentic. I love all of their drinks (the best horchatas I've had in town).
I had tamales, pupusas, pork chicharrones, plantains, the list goes on and they were all amazing.

Excellent food and their agua de maracuya. (passionfruit) was phenomenal! The food is very filling and decent price point and the staff are kind. They do get rather busy so sometimes it can be a bit slow but they are always hustling and are overwhelmed since they also get a lot of orders to go. This is by far one of the best Central American restaurants I have visited and it is as close to homemade cooking you will find.

First time visit 05/29/2021 1700hours. La Cabaña is limiting indoor sitting. Their front door was prop open. Plastic dividers are set up between tables. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Staff has knowledge of menu and are able to provide suggestions. As an appetizer we ordered chicken pastelitos. The chicken inside the pastelitos was seasoned and precooked nicely. Not just a blob of meat that you get at other places. Main entree plates are enough for x2 people to share. The homemade tortillas were the Best. Fresh and hot! Clean bathroom and upkeep cleaning between customers. We were greeted

Our entire way of rating and appreciating restaurants have changed because of the pandemic. I suppose some of the things that we look for in restaurants is whether orders are easy to place, food is quickly made and they transport well. Above all, the food must be unique, delicious and something that can help me fend off pessimism about the ongoing need to social distance. Luckily nearby, La Cabana satisfies all those criteria and goes above and beyond by providing soul-warming food.
