Skalka cafe was started in Seattle Downtown in late 2019 by two immigrants from Georgia and Russia who were on a mission to prove that authentic Eastern-European food should taste delicious and look phenomenal. In Skalka, we make only one dish named Khachapuri and we do it right. Khachapuri is widely popular across Eastern Europe.
In our chef hometown in Adjara, Georgia millions of tourists and locals spend hours waiting for freshly baked khachapuri, delicious boat-shaped pizza-like cheese bread. That name was chosen to emphasize that simplicity is at the core of what we do.

My family and I experienced this fantastic restaurant last month. We ordered chicken khachapuri and enjoyed it until the last bite. Kids had a lot of fun eating soft, cheese-filled bread boat with chicken in it while watching the Seattle Great Wheel (a giant Ferris wheel at Pier 37) from inside the restaurant. I like Seattle's Soda too!
I wish they could add more menu items in the future. I can't wait to visit again 😊

This is a Georgian restaurant which interested us since we're not familiar with any of that cuisine. This breakfast that we had was just phenomenal. It's basically a savory breakfast bread. The bread is so fresh and soft and chewy. Like other reviewers have stated, it's not like sourdough. It's more like a baguette. I got a chicken and egg and my husband got the bacon and red bean. The egg is on top of a soft cheese and has a hunk of butter next to it. I pulled it out and rubbed it all over the bread. The egg is soft cooked so you can dip your bread into it. The fillings

Some of the best food I have ever eaten. While visiting Seattle my boyfriend and I had to have breakfast here two days in a row. I recommend starting with one to share as they are very filling! Out of the two Khachapuri we tried (Lobiani and Veggie) The veggie was our favorite. The flavor medley was absolute perfection. Will be back next time i'm in the city.

Getting bored of the same items at many brunch places, I decided to try Skalka out. Having never tried Georgian food before, this was a GREAT first experience. I got the chicken khachapuri and my boyfriend got the veggie one. I ate this just a couple days ago and I'm ready to go AGAIN!
Both dishes were so delicious, that we actually ended up finishing all our food! The sauces were incredibly flavorful, the cheese added creaminess, and the egg yolk on top made a silky dipping with each bite. My mouth is watering as I write this. Definitely give this place a try, I can't wait to go back

Found this place after picking up my friends from the airport on our trip last spring and it was AMAZING! The interior is cute and cozy and though they were pretty busy when we showed up (it was probably around peak lunch-time-ish) we were seated pretty quickly. For never having Georgian food, I can't say I have a standard/frame of reference but our meal was great! My friends and I sampled two dishes and they were both delicious. Service was great and efficient -- would definitely be coming back here the next time I'm in town!

I've been meaning to check out Skalka for awhile, and glad that I finally did! We visited on a Saturday afternoon and was pleased to find that it wasn't too packed inside. It seems that there's an equal number of guests dining in vs. ordering take-out. The restaurant has a few small tables out in front, and larger tables in the back for extra seating. It's also currently self-ordering via the kiosk at front - nice and easy, especially during this time of COVID.
We ordered the:
- Lobiani - This was our first time trying Georgian Khachapuri Adjaruli in general, and for some reason

This has been my favorite discovery for breakfast food I'm not even a breakfast person but Skalka has changed that! I usually think breakfast food is so bland and just the same old boring thing (eggs and potatoes and some meat and waffle/pancakes). Now that I have found the Georgian delicacy I am never going back to basic breakfast - this breakfast boat (actually names is khachapuri) is meant to be rated with your hand by ripping off chunks on the side and dipping into the center. The center has different based on what you ordered, I got vegetarian and my friends tried the chicken and the

This is so unique. I've never even heard of these before. I've been twice--once I had the stroganoff and the other time I just had the cheese. Both were AMAZING. I think the cheese one is where it's at though. The drinks are super weird but good. I am totally on the fence with coffee mixed with orange juice but it actually kind of works. My taste buds are confused but I want it again so I guess that's a thumbs up. The staff here is AWESOME. Every time I've been in they've been sooooo friendly and helpful. I also love the order kiosk. It's very savvy. This

What a neat place! How awesome was this?
I was looking for a place to eat with a friend, and I visually picked a place on the map which would be halfway between our two locations. It luckily landed on the area of Skalka, which showed up on my yelp search.
I saw the picture of the food, and I was confused.. is this breakfast pizza breadbowls? I don't even know what I'm looking at. After reading a bit, I knew I had to go.
The food tasted just like I imagined. I had a breadbowl of beef stroganoff with egg or something. I don't even know. It tasted lovely. The place was clean, the

Finally got to try this place. Had been here before when it was Spring Thyme Bakery a number of times would get goodies for some friends at work and a latte once or twice. a friend treated me here for dinner yesterday. We had both been wanting to eat here for awhile we got off work early because of the holiday it was a good time to check it out. My friend loves eggs so this is right up her alley.
She had the beef stroganoff and I had the chicken. Generous serving the bread is soft and perfect for dipping. The flavors don't lack I had a taste of her stroganoff it was nicely season and full

I got the chicken boat / khachapuri for lunch. I guess if you like the cuisine or dish, maybe this place is great. But if, like me, you're trying the dish for the first time, don't have high expectations. My review is more for the dish rather than the restaurant itself.
The main sauce in the core is reasonably flavorful. But, the dish is heavy on bread and cheese. Didn't like that much.
The indoor seating is nice and you can easily get a view of the Great Seattle Wheel.
Plenty of street parking nearby but it still maybe hard to find an empty spot.

Each khachapuri is made fresh to order, so it does take 10-20 minutes after you order to get your food. The wait is definitely worth it. We were in Seattle for a quick weekend trip, but ended up coming in twice! We came in for a quick “snack” and shared a chicken khachapuri. It was so deliciously warm and the egg/cheese was amazing. The day we were leaving, it was an easy decision - we had to come back and try another two options. This time we each got our “own” (we switched halfway through). The beef stroganoff was amazing - creamy and savory…and the bean and bacon was the stuff breakfast

Tasty food, self service for the most part, lively decor and 20-35 min wait for food at lunch time. Saw some staff only at the end and were very friendly.
If you enjoy trying new cuisines - and don't care for a fancy sit down experience, this is a great place to try,
We got the chicken and veg boats and both were amazing. The veg had so much flavor!
Kids loved it too. It is extremely filling. Will come back when in the neighborhood.

Khachapuri!! Our first time having this type of food. I couldn't resist coming to try it out. The photos are very enticing.
It was hard to decide which one to try but I settled on the stroganoff. Yes, it takes a while to get your order (sip your coffee slow) BUT it is every bit worth the wait.
The bread fresh and soft. The fillings and flavors were perfection. It was an amazing brunch. AMAZING! I'll be dreaming of this little nest of heaven for a very long time.
I do love that they have few options, even the decor inside is simple. They concentrate on making one great thing and

Yum!! I finally visited this place after seeing it on a delivery app.. I’ve never had Georgian food before and I loved the Khachapuri!! 😋
I ordered the veggie Adjaruli(boat-shaped khachapuri) without the yolk and absolutely loved it!! I had to Google how to eat it, to be honest! Apparently, you mix the cheese, butter and yolk and then tear off the bread and dip into the cheese mix! I prefer a fork and knife, but decided to dive in local style.. and no regrets!! 😋 my only complaint was that it was too heavy for me! I needed to walk for a mile to feel comfortable again after gorging on the

This place was a pleasant surprise! We have never had a (egg) bread boat (khachapuri) before, and the pictures we saw on yelp intrigued us. Each boat came with Adjaruli inside (Melty fresh cheese, grass-fed butter, and organic soft runny yolk).
We got the Lobiani (Red beans, crispy bacon, and pickled red chili) and the stroganoff (Shredded beef and mushroom in a creamy sauce topped with pickles). Both tasted delicious. With the lobiani, the red beans, runny eggs, chili, and adjaruli together made a delicious, warm stew on the cold December day. Personally, we did not find the bacon to be crispy

Highlights:
- Great food, even if you eat it wrong like we did the first time
- Actually a lot of food too, like a LOT
Skalka is one of those places where you have the opportunity (or at least I did) to be introduced to something completely new in such a great way that you're left wanting to explore more. Their offerings are simple: a variety of Georgian bread boats stuffed to the brim with your choice of filling.
Be aware, the bread boats are deceptive, and are a lot more filling than you might expect on first visit. We've tried the lobiani (my personal favorite so far) and the chicken

This place has authentic Georgian food and staff. The table next to us also had a Georgian family so it's legit.
My father always says the bread is the most important part of a meal, and these guys got it perfectly. The toppings on their pizza-style boats go really well with the bread too. Just keep in mind, this food is HEAVY. Delicious but man, you'll feel guilty afterwards. Lot of oil and butter. I'd come back after a month when my stomach settles.
Also, the Bumblebee drink is a mixture of coffee, orange juice, and caramel. Sounded sort of weird but after tasting it, I&apos

Had a lovely meal here, it's a cute little spot with a really nice man working behind the counter.
I ordered the chicken boat. The bread was fresh and easily pulled apart, with steam coming out of the insides. The the egg and butter combo was as good as expected, and the chicken bits were nicely seasoned with a hint of spice. It's definitely a great shareable plate if you aren't really hungry, and probably amazing during a hangover. Definitely somewhere I would come again the morning after a night out.

This was my first time trying Khachapuri (Georgian cheese boats) and I'm absolutely hooked. I tried the veggie boat with the eggplant and tomato and optional egg. It was so good! (And I was skeptical about the egg, but it really mixed in so well!) It was like eggplant parmesan with a little bit more spice served up in a bread bowl. The portion was enough for me to even have left overs for a second meal. I'll be back to try the other kinds as well.
They have a self service ordering kiosk in person or you can order ahead online and they'll text you when your order is done if you feel like walking

The Georgian cheese-filled bread Khachapuri is super delicious: served hot, rich and creamy, tasty, even fun to eat, it's a very satisfying breakfast.
That said, the service I received was at best indifferent, maybe it's a culture thing, I don't know.
But what I did not approve is that while "Mask Required" is posted on their doors, people had no problem coming in and out and talking to the staff without a mask. Then after I finished my meal, I notice that a lady in the kitchen wasn't wearing a mask either while preparing dishes. Very irresponsible acts.

Man o Man. I'm so glad I we found this jewel. It's a very unique experience if you haven't had Georgian food before in which we hadn't. At first glance I was like hmmm I didn't know how this combo was going to mix together, but since we like to try almost anything and the reviews were perfect we made it a point to step out if the box while visiting Seattle.
We tried the beef Stroganoff and veggie/ eggplant Khachapuri. The eggplant hands down for the win. The Beef stroganoff was decent it just didn't have as much flavor as the vegetarian one. I went for it because
