I can't say enough great things about the hotel! I canceled my reservation at another hotel after spending a few days here and have a total stay of 25 days. First, all the folks at the front desk are amazing, friendly, and helpful and were great at helping me with a complicated booking. Add to that a large room with the perfect amount of furniture and kitchenette to be a home away from home. I loved spending my evening on my lanai and the hotel is perfectly situated to walk to bars, restaurants, markets, and the beach. And free parking! I'll be staying at the Ilima hotel whenever I am in Honolulu

We will be back. Our stay was excellent. Cleaning staff, was attentive although we needed nothing. Rainbow every night like a light switch on there it was. Parking was cramped couldn't imagine a larger vehicle trying to park in those spaces. A short walk to the beach and shopping.

We were a family on a budget and needed room for 4. The room had two bedrooms, a living room and kitchenette. In addition to the two twin beds in one room and the double bed in the other, there was a Murphy bed (not one of those uncomfortable sofa beds) in the living room. We were able to each have our own bed. With a ample size refrigerator/freezer we could cook breakfast and lunch and just buy dinners. It was so comfortable and so close (walking distance). to the international Market place and Waikiki beach. It was a great vacation. And the staff is full of the island hospitality!

I give 5 stars for value. We like a hotel with a more 'comfortable' feel to it and the ILIMA is wonderful. You can tell the hotel was designed and built with the convenience of the guest and not the builder in mind. For example you step right off the elevator into the guest laundry. Comfortable beds, clean and the staff is very responsive. Free parking, a nice balcony with a full kitchen surrounded by resorts and easy walking to anywhere. Alot to like.

Nice clean hotel, nice staff, convenient location for a short walk to the beach, restaurants or shops. Nice little mini kitchen.
One con is the limited parking. Some spots are super tight- we always found a spot, but some were tricky to get in and out of, and some were probably too small for my tiny 2 seat roadster back home.
Overall a nice pleasant stay.

We stayed here from July 28 - July 31. Staff was exceptional! They provided tips for the surrounding area, accommodated our requests. The hotel is older, but that means the rooms were very large. in a great location, kitchenette in both rooms, hotel practiced safe protocols for COVID, and very clean. Highly recommend!

We spent there 4 nights and really liked it. The location is great. Tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance and stepping out of the hotels there’s a gorgeous view of the mountains. Staff is super nice, friendly and helpful! It’s not a huge hotel so it feels more like home, not a standoffish establishment like many others. The cleaning staff is very effective too—we found our rooms very clean and organized. The room was quite spacious and had a little kitchen with basic equipment that’s perfect to make breakfast or even lunch/dinner. There was a big table with chairs too. The

Ive stayed here for 5 nights so far, and it has been a really good experience. I was skeptical considering some mixed reviews about the place, but there are some good pros that make this place worthwhile to stay!

I'm staying on the 16th floor, and boy it's an incredible view. Everyday I've been waking up to fresh coffee, tea, and sitting outside on the lanai. The lanai is a decent size, and has 2 chairs and a table.

I got the deluxe option which includes two beds, kitchen, and a lanai facing Manoa, canal, and the golf course.

Cooking: definitely able to cook small meals here

This place is fabulous. It's 6 minutes from the beach, and steps away from the heart of Waikiki. Our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking Waikiki and the Pacific. There is free parking and, best of all, this is about the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I've seen anywhere. And the price is very reasonable. Other hotels charge a "facilities fee" and up to $50 a day for parking--money better spent on a nice meal or some fun activity. This place is low-key and not very showy, but delivers where it counts--in value and service. A real hidden gem in the heart

We stayed here for 8 nights while in Oahu/Waikiki and the Ilima Hotel met the expectations. Primarily what I was looking for was: 1. Free parking 2. Close to the center of Waikiki but not smack-dab in the middle of it and 3. kitchenette. The previous hotel I booked had only 1 of these 3 so I cancelled and booked Ilima instead based on generally positive reviews.

So here's the deal...this is probably a 3 star hotel but it is extremely outdated. Everything from the paint to furniture and even their post cards is very 70s. It seems that everyone agrees that major renovation work is in order

Everyone is very friendly. I would say the cleaning products used in the lobby and rooms give it an institutional feel. Smelling more like a hospital, than the fun 70s hotel 2 blocks from the beach that it is. This place is on my short list for affordable suite hotels.

This was a wonderful experience. Check in time is supposed to be 3 pm but I wasn't feeling good and was going out that night and desperately needed a nap. The desk clerks let me check in at 1pm and my room was amazing! It was huge and clean. Good coffee. Great view of Ala Wai Canal. I wish I stayed longer than one night because the bed was so comfortable. The hotel is so damned cute and maybe a little older than some but it's very Hawaiian. Free parking and a kitchenette-- wow, it's wonderful! I'll come back for sure. Love this place and its staff. They gave me a very pretty

Hotel is older but very well maintained. Free parking is great but spaces are tight, more for compact cars.
Staff is great, beds are very comfortable. Close enough to beach to walk. View from the back deck is great, canal, golf course and mountains.
I highly recommend this hotel, you can't beat it for the price and the kitchen will save you lots of money, had a problem with the toaster and it was replaced immediately, customer service at its finest.

BE CAREFUL ! THIS HOTEL HAS BED BUG !

It took me several months to finally calm down enough to write this review. For those of you who had similar problem, I am sorry. Here is our story.

We checked into room 603. The next morning, my dad found a bug on bed and smashed it. We thought it is hawaii so we co-exist with some little creatures. The next morning around 5-6am, I sit up and saw a black moving dot against white bedsheet. I immediately use the bedsheet and wrapped the little one. Then my husband caught the creature and put it into a plastic bag. That was when the whole horror story started

We stayed 2 nights at the Ilima hotel. There were 12 of us and we got 2, 2 bedroom suits. They were across the hall so our kids were going back and forth through, with no problems or complaints from anyone. Mind you we have 3 loud 10ish year olds and a really loud baby boy so it was really nice.. On Wednesday we took the kids to a complimentary Kukui nut lei making class hosted by the most beautiful aunties in the world. Our leis came out so beautiful, what a nice keep sake. Anyway... Its close to lots of places walking distance, and just a few blocks from Waikiki beach. Only reason for 4 stars

From my childhood, Waikiki was never my scene. It's too congested, too expensive and too touristy for this country boy. As such, I've made it a point to avoid staying in Waikiki (when possible) and even doing anything down that side when I have to make those O'ahu trips for various reasons.

On my most recent trip, I had a restricted budget to work with, so I started looking for a hotel that had descent ratings and was reasonably priced and Ilima Hotel ended up being getting my business. Of course, I was apprehensive because of the fact that it's located in Waikiki, but I

I have stayed in Ilima Hotel twice in the last six years. Both times were very pleasant with no disappointment. The location is in the heart of Waikiki within a block from restaurants and Starbucks (Wakiki Trade Center).

The hotel provides very good value for what I paid for - clean room, free parking, free wifi, kitchenette (with a small full size fridge), coin laundry, friendly staff, quiet at night etc. Everything turned out just the way we had hoped for. No gimmicks. No extra charges.

It's hard to find a reasonable hotel with those qualities in Waikiki. I would highly recommend this

Ilima Hotel? What is it? Where is it? http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ilima-hotel-honolulu-2?select=PrISMLYCa9dUdH15JIrqRA

We were given a two-night stay as a gift at the Ilima Hotel in the heart Waikiki. Now, we hardly go to Waikiki, as the parking is nonexistent, prices are high, and having to bustle against the many tourists, we couldn't miss this opportunity.

Built in 1968, the 17-story Ilima Hotel is an older condominium-style hotel wit h 98 spacious rooms of studios (530 sq ft), 1-bedroom units (650 sq ft), 2-bedroom units (770 sq ft), and a 3-bedroom penthouse suite (1,450 sq ft)

The first time I stayed at the Ilima Hotel, I was really impressed with all the amenities that it offers and the fact that it's in the central part of Downtown Waikiki, which is my favorite part to stay at. This is a relatively "inexpensive" hotel whose rooms come with a kitchenette, larger refrigerator, sink/garbage disposal, a microwave and stove along with plenty of utensils, cups, and plates.

- Swimming pool is on the ground level.
- Complementary parking is available (make sure you register your vehicle when checking in) and on a first-come, first-served basis. There are more
