What a great find. Ignore the fact it's in a shopping center. Very authentic looking inside. Our server was happy to explain all the food and find something perfect for us. She also taught us the proper way to eat with our hands but I opted for a fork. They had Ethiopian Beer which helped add to the experience and my daughter had ginger tea that she now wants to make at home.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt the best Ethiopian cuisine I have had in several years.
Although my roots are in South America, the tastes and textures from the platter did create the sense of homemade and high quality that I have tasted abroad.
The restaurant itself has a very welcoming and warm feeling, accompanied by a kind owner and staff.
I highly recommend if you are looking for a unique gem in the City of Raleigh, or if you're a lover of authentic food.
Will definitely visit again

Ethiopian food is such a wonderful experience. The family style sharing of eating from a common plate and with your hands adds an intimacy that you won't find in many other cuisines. I encourage you to try it this way and share the meal.
Nafkot has an unassuming front from the parking lot, but there is a whole lot of love in this food. The injera was made to perfection and provided a solid foundation for the dishes. We had the Nafkot special beef ribs, the Dora wat, and the veggie combo and all were delightful. The three dishes were more than enough for three adults.

I remember this restaurant when it was under the previous owner. It was a great Ethiopian food experience. The food and entertainment was great. I am totally disgusted with this restaurant now. I am a fan of Ethiopian food for the last 30 years and this is the worst Ethiopian food I have ever attempted to eat. I got $18.00 of overcooked ground beef…I ordered the Nafkot special kitfo raw. This is a photo of what I got. The owner had the audacity to question what my order was. Like I said I have been a fan of good Ethiopian cuisine since the 30 plus years ago Starting in San Diego, California and

We discovered Nafkot by chance last month while visiting Raleigh and it’s so good we’ve driven back to Raleigh two more times in the past 3 weeks just to eat there. It’s our new favorite restaurant. The food is… amazing and the staff is so friendly and attentive. We got the Awaze tibs and Misto (combo meal of Kaye Wot and Alecha Wot) at the suggestion of our server. He nailed it! Like...I want to try other things but I just can’t say no to the Misto! We also love the Ethiopian ginger tea.
