Ron's background includes experience as a minister, financial advisor and estate planner.
Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel was opened in 2008 by Ron and Chris Harder, and Jim Beeding, as an answer to the rising costs of funeral and cremation care. Heritage Oaks is a full service, independently owned funeral home located in Rocklin CA. Our purpose was borne out of the death of Zachary Harder, son of Ron and Chris, and cousin to Jim.

John and I have known Ron and Chris for many years. They are wonderful, caring and compassionate with a heart to serve those who are suffering the loss of a loved one. They understand the pain and sorrow of grief from losing their son Zack a number of years ago. They actively reach out in the community by leading and supporting grief support groups. When John lost his son Craig last year Ron contacted him immediately and helped John move forward in his grief. We know there are no better people to help those who are going through the trials of having lost a loved one.

Our family was quite pleased with our first experience at Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel in 2019. The staff is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. They know what works best in a funeral service, and are willing to share that knowledge. Their facility is clean, roomy and inviting. Their sound system works great for both music and the spoken word. They are experts at putting together memorable videos of loved ones who have passed.
We were so impressed with their services and personnel at our mother’s funeral that we did our father’s funeral service through them as well in June 2021

Our family felt very lucky to choose Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel’s service. Mr. Ron Harder and his staff were very empathetic, compassionate, and thoughtful. Our family is from Asia, so they served our mother’s ceremony for our Asian culture with warmth, dignity, and respect. While our family was in grief, their special services helped us to ease our pain. We appreciate and thanks very much for all things that they did for my mom’s ceremony. When my wife died in 2018 I was all alone and had to handle all of the arrangements for the care of her body. I remember feeling overwhelmed at the time. Fortunately, one of the orderlies at the hospital recommended Heritage Oaks. I met with their staff the next day and within an hour or two, I felt relieved that this overwhelming and stressful procedure was in capable hands. I wanted a simple cremation and was offered an affordable and dignified product. There was no push to upgrade and no hidden fees. They handled every detail. They also offered some free books that helped me with the grieving

Even though my father had taken care of his burial arrangements prior to his death, my family, nevertheless, was not ready emotionally to handle the details. Fortunately, Jim was our first point of contact, and he immediately put us at ease with his warm disposition, vast knowledge, and accommodating nature. I can't say enough about the compassionate and ethical nature of the staff at Heritage Oaks Memorial. Twice when going through the most difficult of circumstances one faces in life, they were there for my beloved family. I never felt so well taking care of.
One thing I have noticed after attending their lunch and learn teachings on Compassion Fatigue is, they never boast on how much they save people money compared to their competition!!! Heritage Oaks provided our family with one of the most courteous and professional services during our hard time and loss. They were challenged with having three religious services and ceremony (Catholic, Christian, Buddhist) during my son's funeral service. They were able to make continuous time adjustments to insure complete observance and respect. In addition the United States Marines were on hand to honor my son which was arranged by Heritage Oaks. Of all the decisions our family made during our beloved dad's passing, choosing Heritage Oaks was the least stressful and most comforting. Funeral director Jim Beeding arranged for the most dignified transfer of my dad's remains to his final resting place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. At all times, I felt he was available to answer our questions and to reassure. Having compassionate people like Jim and his team on our side turned out to be an unexpected gift during a very difficult time. Highly recommended.

Heritage Oaks did a great job with our beloved father. We had about a week in advance to plan. The staff was very thoughtful, cooperative, and caring. We were not subjected to any pressure marketing at all. Everything, from the Trisagion service the night before the funeral, to the funeral at church, and the procession to the cemetery for internment, was handled seamlessly and very professionally. Worry free. Stress free. Hopefully we won't need their services for a long time, but they'll be our first call when the need arises again.
