The buffet cost 40 dollars per person! 👎 The machines cost even more! If you like taking money and flushing it down the toilet? Then First on Main Street is where you need to go and become broke!

I walked in and the server was on her phone and acted like I was bothering her!!! I had the Queen Cut Prime Rib...if you can call it that. It was probably the worst I ever had! The iced tea was good...lol and the cole slaw. Will not be back.

My husband and I usually have Thanksgiving Dinner at the First Gold and it is very delicious. But today Nov. 25, 2021; The buffet was terrible. The Turkey tasted like it was not done. The green bean casserole was disgusting. The ham was a ham loaf not the usual ham. The vegetables were over cooked and very mushy. The only thing that was fairly decent to eat was the prime rib. If I wanted the type of meal we got today I could have done it myself. The idea of eating out is to hopefully get a good food. What we were charged for the meal was highway robbery. The meat does not even rate a one star.

We’ve been enjoying this buffet for years even tho the lady running around with a walk-in talkie is worthless! (Manager?) She’ll walk by your table all night long, never stopping to ask if you need a refill or used plates take away. We just recently ate there only to discover they’ve raised their prices yet again! That’s $9. a person hike in just 2 years! The wait staff was the worst it’s ever been, with the exception of the little older woman. She is a wonderful friendly waitress. Yet, no one Ever stopped by our table to see if we needed a refill or to take away the dirty plates. Oh

I absolutely love this place! The restaurant is my favorite! The food is delicious! The prices are amazing and the portions are just overwhelming. The servers are friendly and efficient and just good at their jobs. The casino is great too! Sadly the cage cashiers are old and crabby and just flat out rude and disrespectful! But the restaurant staff and bartenders make up for it!!!

Back again, some new machines but still very tight to get any bonus when better higher.

The better place to go still remains The Lodge though they are hit or miss.

Had our anniversary weekend here in Deadwood and have eaten here twice. Had breakfast which was a huge portion of food at what I think is very readable if not cheap was a good breakfast with a good staff. Last night also did their prime rib buffet and was very impressed. I crushed about 3lbs of prime which was done to a perfect medium rare, was very tender and flavorful, they do prime rib right

Sad place

About half of the machines were off, some have notes on them stating what the repair issue is. It does not appear to be distancing due to covid because none of the other casinos in Deadwood have machines turned off. I did win on the few that I played. We also did not eat or stay here, so no comments on those.

Best value in Deadwood for Bike Week. Ample (free) parking for trailers. Great breakfast in the AM. Super rooms at a great price!

Got a great room in the 2nd building where the trace lodge checkin lobby is. Don't let the name Travelodge scare you this was nicely updated our room had new carpet and the bed was the best. Wish we could buy one just like it . Had a k pod along with fridge and iron/board in room. Was confusing trying to locate the continental breakfast and we missed it by 5 minutes. Luckily we had Buffett coupons in our package deal. Buffet small but loved the omelette bar. Yes, I would happily stay here again. 1 star minus was there was a humming noise must have been elevator or larger a/c unit for the building

I do think the buffet is a little overpriced and you don't get much of a discount with your players card.

However, for table games players, this casino is great for first time gamblers or inexperienced blackjack players. They offer a $2 min. on 6deck and dealers and floor staff, Theresa in particular, are extremely helpful in helping newbies make playing decisions. Just don't let them talk you into the sucker bet if you don't want to play it. The only issue with the 6 deck is you're getting about half of a shoe before the shuffle and then they hand shuffle it, so it's

Wow! We don't gamble, but one of life's pleasures and social events is eating.
Through the casino, down the stairs and you are in prime rib buffet heaven. Truly an experience to get all the beef you can shovel down. But wait! There are items on the buffet - all well cooked. Salad table, desert table, and the hot entre table with beef carver standing by with GENEROUS portions, first, second, and third time around.

The hotel is alright, i understand it is old....and not all of the rooms have been updated...however....the reason i give this hotel a 1 star....is because i had woken up as it was very warm....so no worries there...the heaters in the room work....BUT i woke up to bed bugs on my pillow!! There were more once we pulled the bed covera back as well as on the wall.....oh my gawsh!!! The staff was good as they did not hesitate to move us rooms but now its 3am and i cannot sleep nor do i trust closing my eyes in fear of more bed bugs...they were HUGE bedbugs...full grown adults.....i will not stay

This is a nice hotel. Pleasant and quick check in. Parking was sufficient in their own parking garage that accommodated our truck and bike trailer. Room was clean and updated. Coffee convenient to the room available for free. The only very small inconvenience was that the food and casino was in a different building, a bit of a hilly walk from our room in building three. They do offer a ride down and back however. The restaurant has NO ambience but a decent buffet for $17. A dollar off for seniors. The prime rib, surprisingly, was the best thing they had and it was truly outstanding. The rest was

The room was clean and had a fridge. When we first checked in we were given a unclean pizza everywhere room which the staff changed us to a different room right away. The hotel was quiet we stayed in building 2 and did enjoy our two day stay. The hotel is 2 miles from downtown so it's not in the busy part. Did not step foot in the casino. We would stay again for the bargain rate if it was available. The interior is old western not sure if our room was updated from the 80's or not. We had a Cljnt Eastwood poster framed from the outlaw Josey Wales movie also...

This place was a sad disappointment. We waited in line for about 25 minutes to get on the list for the Saturday night buffet. It was my birthday so we were excited to see so much hype! Luckily we got through quickly but were ushered down to the dungeon. The buffet didn't have many choices, lighting and tables were awful, some of the staff treated us like we couldn't even ask for something, felt sick after I ate... The list goes on. The whole thing was just a joke.

In conclusion, skip this buffet and try the one downtown at the Silverado.

Sometimes when you pick the cheap hotel room in town you get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting much out of my stay at First Gold. But I was extremely pleased with my stay at First Gold. We stayed in building #2 with a roll away in the room of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The kids said the roll away was quite comfortable and the room was large enough that we didn't feel cramped. The TV wasn't huge and there was no refrigerator in the room but it was a good solid room for some good value. First Gold isn't in downtown which is a small strike against it if you want to be a part
