We used the Martin & Mason for my daughter's wedding venue. First of all to say it was perfect would be an understatement. The hotel rooms are absolutely stunning, The event ballroom has a historic beauty that is unmatched in the Black Hills region. The food was absolutely excellent!! But the best part of Martin & Mason is the service!! Melanie and Blake are the perfect hosts. They did not only set everything up in an unforgettable way, but they turned from management into friends. That is the best compliment I can share. I will not stay anywhere else on future trips to Deadwood (unless they are

The location was perfect for staying in Deadwood. We were able to walk to the many other casinos and restaurants which made it very convenient. The room had a surprise - no shower - just a tub - but it was a pleasant surprise. (When you make a reservation, double-check to ensure you have a shower if you need one. There are a few rooms that have tub only - which was fine for our stay.) The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We were in Room 3 - King Size Bed, small corner sink, and relaxing old-time-tub! The staff was amazing - always very friendly - from the front desk to the casino attendants

The Martin & Mason Hotel was our destination of choice for our honeymoon. It was the most incredible experience ever. It's location is perfect in that we did not need a vehicle for anything. It's in walking-distance to everywhere you need to be to have a great time in the coolest town alive (also a block from our favorite Saloon #10!). We arrived well after midnight and the owner stayed up for us to ensure we were let into the building and handed our keys... She made our entire experience one we will never forget. The staff were amazing, and the building itself was absolutely beautiful. There is

The hotel is outdated as it should be! It is 125 years old! If you are looking for modern hotel in Deadwood, it will be hard to find close to main street.

A hotel where every room is unique and perfectly located next to main street. It has a wonderful, vintage atmosphere and the owner is nice and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Loved this unique hotel. It has character and history. Very friendly staff willing share the hotel's history and give a tour.
Free parking in their lot.
Doesn't have all modern amenities from other places like ice machine or fridge in room but the charm makes up for that.
Each room is unique with decor and features, look close before you book one. Some have a large tub and no shower. Just know which room you are choosing.
Would love to stay again!

Exceptional experience here! Friendly staff throughout the entire place and also very accommodating. This hotel is beautiful and has the old 1800s atmosphere. The room honestly felt more like a welcoming room at a Victorian house than a typical hotel room. Very convenient location to everything in Deadwood. When returning to Deadwood I will definitely be staying here again.

This is a historic building in Deadwood. The rooms are all new with modern bathrooms, but are decorated in 1880 furnishings. Very unique wonderful experience. We stayed in the 'The Martin' room it is used by the SD governors and was featured on the 'Bachelor'. Upstairs there is full ballroom, which would be great for a wedding reception.
