If you think this hotel has a good deal, IT IS NOT WORTH IT.
This was probably the worst experience I have ever had. We arrived late at night at this hotel and were greeted by Lorraine(something like that) at the front desk that could barely form sentences and had to sit down to talk to me. One of her first points about this hotel was, "We're an old hotel, so some things may not work hahaha." Right away I knew something was wrong. I parked and walked to room 307.
1. Deadbolt didn't work. 2. Heater was a plugged-in device that was set to the highest setting which made no sense

We have been staying at the Riviera since the 70’s. We have had a reservation for 10 months and when confirmed the first time was told we changed management and we have no record of your reservation. Unacceptable! Now today after remaking the reservation a month ago was told oh yes didn’t you have a special request for a room I said yes. She couldn’t find the special request after she said she remembered discussing it. After going back and forth and yes I did get upset because of the incompetence. This is definitely a 3 star hotel, but it’s proximity to the beach & Laguna boosts that a bit. The Ocean View Queen room is small & archaic, but the patio with great ocean views makes it. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Nice clean grounds & beach. One draw back is the lack of hot water periodically for morning showers…

Over all we had a great experience at this hotel , we've booked rooms here on 4 separate stays to laguna beach , even though it isn't cheap and each room isn't exactly 100% consistent with the format of quality the entire hotel overall is worth it , it's one of our favorites even though it's not 100% perfect for the price it is we alway left with a good overall experience ,

Service is as bad as I've ever experienced. Have come here for years. Since the sale and new management, it's super bad.
1. Promised one of three rooms. Didn't get any of them.
2. After one day they moved us to a room they promised us.
3. The room we moved to sleeps 3, not 4. So I slept on the hard wood floor. Because the front desk clerk told me "you already moved rooms once, you're not moving again". No lie. She said that yep she did.
4. They then told us that they did not know we were 4. Lies and excuses.
5. The hotel has always been old, things broken, etc but

Sad. Just sad. I have been coming to the the Laguna Riviera for twenty years. It never has been a glamorous hotel. If anything, it was a retro hotel. And you get what you pay for. Although not luxurious or fancy, many of us kept coming back to the hotel, despire it's need for remodeling or carpet replacement. But it was clean. The staff was nice. It was comfortable. Home.
But now, sadly, it has all changed. There are new owners. And the place is not what it used to be.
1. Carpets are dirty and stained.
2. There are kitchens in each unit, but all pots, pans, utencils - even a roll of paper

It must be because I'm a senior citizen, but shouldn't there be a human covering the check in desk on a fri afternoon at 3pm?
We stood there for 20 min! All of a sudden, an SUV drove up, parked, and a woman got out, came in and got behind the desk. How interesting.
We proceeded to check in and was told, "you have to go online, to a 3rd party, download an app and check in that way. Until you do that, there's nothing I can do." Really? Are you kidding me? I'm paying $700.00 for two nights in a very tired motel/hotel, and this is the customer service I'm getting

Terrible: they messed up our stay by not having the room we reserved. so we had to find a different place to stay and drive there for about an hour. This place ruined our mini-vacation.Then John at this place claims that we did stay there, even when we can prove that we checked into another hotel on the same day. Very flaky people work here.Our advice: find a better & reputable place to stay.

After a few stressful days, I booked the Laguna Riviera as my first hotel. I was so surprised when I got there and saw the beautiful small resort in person.
I was expecting it to be pretty basic, but when I got to my room, I was in awe. The resort was beautiful and the staff was so nice! The resort is the perfect spot for relaxing and feeling like you're on vacation. I would highly recommend booking your stay at the Laguna Riviera.
Laguna Riviera is a very affordable option for a pool stay. I love that the prices of the hotel and the pool stay are so affordable and that I can get a room with

What a lovely place! We had a partial view room and it was perfect. I opened the windows at night and just fell asleep to the waves. I wish I would've stayed longer and even debated booking for another night. There wasn't much shoreline directly near the hotel but I only booked for the ocean waves so it was great. The bed was very comfortable and loved that there was a microwave and fridge in the room. I walked my dog in the mornings and there were a good amount of pet friendly restaurants and shops nearby. I never touched my car! If you're thinking of staying here, don't hesitate. It's not a luxurious

Disliked · Horrible experience. Paid $300 for a room that is right next to the road with heavy traffic and right above the AC. The room has no view. no bottled water and no beach towel. There is a super loud noise in the room all night long, I could not sleep at all and have to stay on the couch throughout the night. Called the front desk, the staff came up and acknowledged the issue without doing anything about it. Next morning they happily charged me $300 and bid me farewell.

Do NOT book a suite at this place. The one we had was not worth paying $1.00! The suite and everything in it is from the 70's not even the 80's. There was some noise in the bedroom that kept going all night which kept us awake all night. The carpet is awful. The suite is dark and dingy and borders the street at the front of the property. When we complained about not being able to sleep to the front desk, they said they would give us a partial refund. That was in May. We're still waiting. It was such a horrible experience we're never coming back to Laguna Beach again. San Diego is not as crowded

I know that managenent changed, been staying here everytime we go to laguna beach. Our visit the last time wasnt the best, the reason for 3 stars, we found a t shirt behind a table, made the room feel dirty, the walls need cleaning. We got the partial view and pretty much had 1 window with a portable ac blocking the "partial" view. For the price it is no longer worth it, other places may offer less for more! We asked the front desk if they had another room we were willing to pay more if they had a better and cleaner room, unfortunately they had none. Pricey rooms and $24 parking a night

This place sold us a room and at check in it wasn't what was sold to us. We purchased a King room with ocean view and as you can see from the pictures you can see our neighbors patio. Also on top of that we were given a Queen size bed, this was not even close to what was sold to us. When we got there and was taken to our room we immediately told the lady and she got argumentative and gave us attitude and said "This is the same level as the ocean view"
We clearly showed her that was not correct and she just walked away. We then called booking since that

No longer do they let you pick your exact room. Keep in mind, this isn't a Holiday Inn where room types pretty much describes your room because all of one type are exactly the same. This is a boutique hotel where some room shave been renovated, some not, Some have amenities others don't. And you won't know exactly which room you are getting until you arrive.
Kind of a slap in the face for those who've supported them for 20 years because one of the selling points was you can pick your exact room.

Impressive, quaint, memorable place to stay to rekindle your romance in Laguna Beach. Fantastic beach view and courteous, accommodating staff. We checked in and a young lady named Danielle who was very helpful and took the time to give us a tour of all that the hotel had to offer.
We loved where we stayed where we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The room had a dining area, small kitchenette, fridge, microwave and TV.
Outside there was a table within an enclosed patio in addition to an outside patio with tables and sunbathing chairs where you can see the ocean. From day to sundown

Deceiving pictures!!! Be careful while booking!
We booked an "Ocean facing" room with private balcony (per the pics) at the Laguna Riveria and were given a semi partial ocean view room (No balcony), We literally had a big concrete area right outside our room window and thats not what I paid 300$ per night for. The lady on the front desk was rude when I called her and asked for the manager. She kept telling how "pretty" my assigned room was and that I could use the "common area" as my patio ..Worst customer service, we felt cheated!
