I loved my stay here! Staff is professional and courteous. The room was clean with lots of amenities. I stayed in room 7, which had its own private balcony facing the PCH, which was great for people watching. The room was well insulated from the traffic noise. The bed was comfortable and large. You can't beat the location either! Ralph's grocery and liquor store right across the street and a short walk to the beach, restaurants, shops, and galleries. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location, helpful staff but the place was okay.
Upon arrival, we almost missed the entrance to the parking. Had to call the hotel and figure out where to check in. The turn key door was a little tricky at first but got it after a few tries. We had our ESA pets with us and they seemed comfortable.
Unfortunately, the room where we stayed in had ants in the bathroom. It wasn't excessively numerous but enough for me to notice. The AC worked wonderfully but it was pretty loud. Bed was soft but it almost felt like I was sinking in. I don't think they have elevators here so be prepared to drag

There is no front desk and there were no instructions for check-in upon booking. If we hadn't run into a housekeeper when we arrived, we wouldn't have known where/how to check in. Parking is an additional $17/day. To me, parking should have been included since there's no other way to get to the hotel other than to drive. There was no housekeeping for our four day stay, which we were not told about when checking in. When I called to ask for housekeeping, they responded with no housekeeping during COVID, which I understand some people might be weary; but if we specifically request for housekeeping

My daughter and I found 14 West during a last minute search looking for a property the same day we were driving to south Orange County. I have stayed at the Surf n Sand hotel many times and I will say 14 West is comparable or superior in terms of room-to-room luxury comparison and even though 14 West isn't on the beach it is only a 3 minute walk across coast highway to a great beach. 14 West is ideally centrally located in the heart of Laguna and within walking distance to Forest Avenue and downtown LB. Julio & his excellent team at 14 West are absolute pros and made us feel welcome and taken care
