Beautiful setting in the regions most charming town Watch Hill. Been here for the spa several times, lunch at the Bistro and Verandah. Every time we have gotten excellent service. The food may seem overpriced for the quality, but the gorgeous coastal setting makes it worth it as a treat. The only improvement I would like is that the spa enforced quiet rules. Best to book a treatment during off peak hours.

The Ocean House was destination number 1 of my 40th birthday week of celebration. Arriving at the beautiful yellow coastal hotel we were greeted by an incredibly welcoming staff.
The hotel is pristine and the location on the coast is absolutely breathtaking. This setting is perfect to walk along the beach or sit on one of their numerous patios while enjoying a glass of wine.
The vibe of the hotel was luxurious but we did feel a bit underaged compared to the balance of the guests (and I was 40!) not at all a complaint but this does lead to a sleepier vibe at times.
One aspect that was super

Service 4 stars
Sunday brunch
Appetizer tower of fresh fruit, charcuterie, oysters clams and shrimp...4 stars
Could have had a little bit more fruit for four people... Definitely could've had more on the charcuterie tray for four people... But so plentiful for the oysters shrimp and clams for four people...
Danishes- 5 stars these were all delicious... We took every bite we didn't eat home in a little people bag for us to have the next day
First course 4 stars Between the six of us we tried everything and all was delicious in regards to the salads and the broccoli cheddar soup

Delightful! I had been to the "old" Ocean House years ago. I was quite fond of the place, it had character. The "new" Ocean House is sparkling new. That is a different ballgame, and a very pleasant and delightful experience. If I lived closer I would be there quite often. On second thought, I will be there quite often!

The Ocean House reopened in 2010 to rave reviews and accolades. It was the shiny new gem of Rhode Island. Service was world class and it was stunning. They have been slowly slipping from grace with poor customer service, mediocre food, ridiculous prices, and now, new rules! ......guests are no longer allowed to sit on their huge porch facing the ocean for drinks unless they buy food, they now collect $5 for valet parking but the valets don't get any of the money, the size of the wine pour has gotten considerably smaller and the servers have attitude and haven't been taught the Golden

Went for a friend’s bachelorette dinner on The Verandah. Our waitress was extremely rude and unaccommodating. I asked her to take a group picture of us and she said she was too busy and she’d do it later. She never came back to do it. So we asked someone else and then she walked by laughing at us. She made us feel so uncomfortable and unhappy.… Second, a friend asked if they had creme brûlée and our waitress said they have it in another kitchen but didn’t even try to get it for us. Third, who wants cape cod chips from a bag served with a $21 sandwich? And that

The staff and servers are very unfriendly. No one that works on the veranda care about the customer. No attention and billed for services not provided. No manager available to talk with and the only employee that cared was the bus boy. What a let down and disappointment. Don’t waste your money or special evenings.

I would give 0 stars except for the bus boy who cared more about a drink glass shattering in my wife's hand and a full drink dumped onto my wife than our server or the manager on duty. We also had to pay for the drink that she could not enjoy. With a table full of ice and a broken glass the food runner attempted to put our soup on top of the mess. When I asked him for napkins or a towel to clean up he said he's just here to drop our soup.
After 38 minutes of us sitting with no sight of our server the same bus boy came by and apologized and processed our check for us. For a $300

This is a five star Hotel.
If your looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy good food, peacefulness atmosphere and amazing walks on the beach than this is the hotel for you.
Guests here keep to themselves for the most part which is a big deal for their higher end and famous guests who own rooms here.
The restaurants are serving some fantastic meals and if you get a chance you must try their own take on lobster roll. Delicious doesn't come close to express
how good it was.
I was here for only an hour but it definitely caught my eye for a nights stay but be aware it's expensive.

This place was excellent, beautiful views, great food, and excellent drink selection. Tasting of Rhode Island appetizer was perfect. Great selection of meat and cheese. We also enjoyed the the New England clam chowder, short rib sandwich, and Caesar salad. Great place to stop and see while in the area.

I find it surprising that this place has 223 reviews but hasn't reached their true rating of a 5-star hotel. I just left the Ocean House & while it was pricey, it was worth every single penny. The accommodation and hospitality was the most remarkable i've ever received at any hotel (I travel and have stayed in MANY). The building alone, the rooms, so clean, tasteful decor, inviting and busy; Busy with great cuisine, activities such as croquet in the backyard, the bar down on their private beach with complimentary cabanas for hotel guests. After arriving back from a walk past T- Swifty

2nd Update*** all of my money was returned because American Express did an independent investigation and found this hotel is below any acceptable standards, NOT because the management wanted to. Your establishment is DIRTY and needs to be cleaned. You will MAKE PEOPLE SICK.
Timothy, you and your assistant manager Luis , along with the woman that checked us in, I believe her name in Antonia, should be fired for blatantly lying to your customers, creating an UNHEALTHY, DIRTY, DISGUSTING , AND FILTHY HOTEL THAT IS BELOW HOSPITALITY STANDARDS OF CLEANLINESS.
THIS HOTEL IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE

I love the Ocean House. I have been going to Westerly ever since I was a child. We would go to the beach and then over to the Ocean House for lunch or dinner. As an adult I still love going to the Ocean House. If I'm in Westerly for the day I always go to the beach, then Ocean house for lunch or dinner. I have gone there for special occasions, like birthdays. I have also gone to a few events hosted by the Ocean House. I went to the lobster bake dinner they host in the summer on the beach. That was one of my memorable nights last summer. I am glad I got to go last summer because this summer

What a beautiful place!! I have driven by it many times in the past but never went in. We had a lunch reservation in the bistro yesterday. Diners were well spread out in the restaurant and even in October there were many people eating outside on the veranda. The wine list is EXTENSIVE, it is pages and pages sorted by region. We found a lovely merlot from Hudson Valley for $40 but there are some pretty expensive bottles on the list. Our waiter was very careful to be sure he knew which bottle we wanted. Lunch was mainly salads for us and they were delicious. The best part of the afternoon was walking

Very generous 3 stars here. This review is for a little of everything ... hotel, brunch, etc.
First of all, we came on a pretty overcast weekend after a rain storm. We were a bit bummed because most of the outdoor stuff was completely closed down. Given the prices here ... there should be people on the beach still. We went to sit on the beach by the water and there were no staffers by the cabanas, etc. No towels. It wasn't even raining, just very overcast. All the cushions were soaked ... nobody bothered to take them in before the rain and then set them out after. Again ... at these prices

This review is for the Verandah Raw Bar. The Ocean House itself is stunning. A beautiful gilded age mansion overlooking the water, it is quite impressive.
We had a reservation for 4:30. I would do a couple hours later if you could, better sunset and cooler temperature. However, no matter what time the views are amazing.
Food and drinks were good, but forgettable. I expected better from $4 oysters. The food wasn't bad, just super average for the price tag. You are definitely paying for the atmosphere, and not much else.
Overall, it was a nice experience. I would go back for drinks and

Ocean house is the epitome of luxury. Be prepared to splurge for an evening of dining or a nights stay with top notch service. True New England elegance with a Gatsby atmosphere. We did the tasting menu for my Birthday and they nocked it out of the park. Scott the manger was amazing. I knew were were in for a treat.

I am surprised at some of the extremely low reviews for this place but I can't speak to the food, spa, or hotel room experience. I visited the Ocean House for the annual Christmas Party and tree lighting. This was a family event with complimentary Christmas drinks and snacks, along with pictures with Santa, caroling and more.
There was limited parking and because this was a special event, people parked on the side of the road and in front of nearby homes. Police guides traffic and (from my knowledge) no ones car was towed.
The Ocean House is gorgeous and used for photo shoots, wedding
