Services
VBInspect.com is a small, locally owned, home based business. We do not use a call center and try our best to answer all calls between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday -Friday. If you don't reach us, don't be afraid to leave a message, we'll get back to you as soon as we can! Diane worked for our previous owner(s) for 10+ years and has been typing reports for us since 2009.
All of our inspectors are Certified with the American Society of Home Inspectors. We are also a PA State Certified Radon testing firm (1607) and have multiple radon certified testing individuals. We are a certified pest control firm (BU 7931). In April of 2016, Jason purchased ownership of VBInspect from Tim Raufer.
The following is a breakdown of our fees. It looks complex, but don't worry! Our website will automatically calculate your fees depending on property size, property age, and services chosen. The finished living space can sometimes be obtained from the Allegheny County Real Estate website. This may also be listed on the multi-list document.

Generally, the inspection will require 2.5 - 4.5 hours for most average sized homes in this area. Clients area encouraged to attend the inspection. Many find it helpful to listen to short re-caps of findings along with visually seeing any issues in person.

I am in the process of buying a new home and my agent referred me to this group. They were phenomenal. The house I’m buying a previous sale fall through due to the buyer not approving of the inspection. I received that report and it wasn’t very informative. I was expecting that to be the norm. NO WAY! This company provided me with a 30 page report in less than 24 hours and provided so much detail in the report that I probably could’ve just skipped being in person for it. They were phenomenal. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value
Was recommended to me out real estate agent. He did the inspection a little over a year ago and since then we’ve found problems that he should have noticed. Just one example - the downspout from the kitchen sink was completely disconnected sending water directly into the basement. That’s just one of many. Find another home inspector.

Jason "inspected" my home in Mt. Lebanon. While he did catch some money-saving issues, he whiffed big-time on critical roof components like rotting fascia boards, rotting struts, and gutters that were nearly detached. Not only did he miss these, he also failed to recognize that ice and water shields were not installed. I had to have a roofer completely replace and reattach fascia boards and gutters on both levels of my home. I would not recommend VBInspect.

When my home was flooded from a water main break, VBIspect came and did a full inspection of the foundation and structural integrity of the house. Honestly, I wish every purchase I've made was as pleasurable as this one. You can book an appointment online through their website (thank you for the much desired convenience!) and Diane will be contacting you with any additional questions. I'm a first time home buyer and she helped me realize I didn't need some of the inspections I ordered. Got that portion of the cost refunded immediately! Jason and the crew at VBInspect were great through the entire process. Scheduling with them is really easy on their website and they had plenty of availability. Jason was on time for the inspection and was extremely thorough.
