Stayed here Saturday night and was supposed to stay another night, but couldn't take it. The room we had was very small, when the pull out bed was being used it block the pathway to the front door. The separate bedroom didn't even have a door. The fireplace didn't work, the back tv remote didn't work. The shower in the morning started off hot and went freezing cold about 2 minutes in. The room smell like sewage after using the shower. Tried to get another room that had a door for the bedroom and the person said they had only one room and it was booked. So all in all lessened

Not worth the price. Price is on the higher end for a place I'd say at best is a 2 star inn. I stayed in room 11, it's a king bed, fireplace and private parking right outside. The bed is uncomfortable and the fireplace did not work. An employee came to the room twice to try to make it work and ended up telling me to just use the heater. The heater is an old school wall unit that works horribly. It' was impossible to control the temperature in the room. We woke up to turn it on and off every few hours. The location is good. It was a short walk to the middle of town. Fun place to visit

Came here to stay for 1 night while visiting Solvang. The hotel allowed dogs at an extra $25 fee, that is why we chose this place among others. The room wasn't ready when we arrived unfortunately. We had to wait til 3pm for our room which is pretty late. The property itself is really nice with a lot of plants, benches and fountains. The room was clean and put together. The hotel itself is on the older side so don't expect anything modern. Parking was easy and free. Check in and check out was also super easy. The room came with a bunch of towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer

We had a great stay at the M (only stayed one night). The room was nice, with a great shower and comfortable beds and nice furnishings. And it's dog friendly. The landscaping is great with a really nice English garden in the back.
It's a short walk, maybe a couple of blocks, from the main areas in solving.

Cute cottages like hotel. You will get your actual key instead of electronic key. 5-10 mins walks to stores, bakery, restaurants...Clean space, friendly staffs. We rented a king bed with a sofa bed and kitchen with good size fridge, microwave and electronic stove. We didn't use the kitchen, but it was a good size for family of 4. My kids didn't like the sofa bed, but it's a sofa bed after all, so can't complain...

We arrived and it was just as the pictures showed. If you’re looking for cute, relaxing, simple. Then this is the place. They no longer have their cafe open due to the pandemic, but the cafes are just a short 5 minute walk up the street. Which I loved ! Not in the middle
Of the busy-ness. Check in and out was quick and easy. Both ladies were sweet. The living room was right when you entered. We had room “big sur” . With a small fireplace, with a cute little coffee maker. Enough for 2 cups of coffee in the morning. My boyfriend loved the garden area as he did his yoga outside at night. And

The M Hotel Solvang is a quaint hotel fitting into the atmosphere of beautiful Solvang.
The room was clean with tile floors and access to a lovely backyard courtyard.
The first impression was the strong cleaner smell coming from the room that never went away from the time we stepped in to checkout. It was overpowering and saturated my clothes and belongings.
The bathroom was neat with the requisite towels, toiletries and blow dryer but the showerhead kept falling off because of the bad design of the shower tall itself (door colliding with showerhead)
The back yard area was delightful with patio

The M Solvang is a fairly nice small hotel at the far end of Alisal Rd. Entering from the front you see a pleasant garden area with seats and tables set among a variety of flowering plants. The rooms that surround the garden along three sides are nicely shaded by foliage. In the back of the hotel are more rooms with yet another garden behind them. The rooms are more or less individually decorated and fall into about four categories or levels. Most all seem to have wood floors and a window A/C unit. Several have kitchenette amenities. Bathrooms are clean, though for taller people the toilets and

I had reservations here this past weekend. Their English garden in the back was the best part of The M. It was beautiful and very relaxing. Cleanliness is a whole different story. I have a feeling our sheets were not replaced from their previous guests. As you can see on the picture, I found plenty of small black trash all over the bed and underneath the quilt. Once I removed the comforter, I noticed hair. All types of hair . The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Our mini fridge didn't work, but was offered access to the fridge in their cafeteria. The restroom appeared to be clean, but there

Very quaint place. Nice rooms & gardens. Breakfast was not available, so cannot comment on that. Pictures are of room 18 - King Suite. Very nice comfortable room - 3 negatives- toilet seats are cheap plastic and move when you sit, coffee pots are not great (a bit difficult to use and they only leave you one filter), water pressure is not consistent. Our bathroom faucet had good cold water, hot water was a trickle. Shower was fine. Our friends room had the opposite - sink faucet was fine, shower was weak on the hot. Overall, I did enjoy our 2 day stay.

For $140 for a Friday night in Solvang, The M Solvang is a sweet deal considering just about anywhere else in town is going to cost $200+ on a weekend. I believe we got the "Apple" room, on the corner of the building. We arrived late after 9pm, so the keys were conveniently left at the office.
PROS:
-Our clean, spacious room was more like a mini-suite. There was an extra small room connected with chairs...perfect for my wife to do her early morning yoga and me to stay up later before going to bed.
-Fridge, Coffee Machine
-Quite location away from the main tourist drag
-Charming

Don't waste your money at this dump. Pictures on the website are deceiving and don't look anything like the actual room. View of parking lot, cracked toilet seat, fireplace didn't work, chipped nightstand. This place is not antique, just plain run down. Ruined our weekend staying here. The general manager was too busy to deal with our concerns either and no refund received.

For the price I guess you get what you paid for. We werent able to check in for almost an hour after the check in time. When we finally went in the floors were soaked with cleaner. We opened the windows trying to help the strong cleaner smell but not all the windows worked. The fan didnt turn off in the room and the lights in it didnt work. We were freezing all night.
The staff was kind and helpful when we asked for more blankets.
But I wouldnt suggest this spot unless you really arent going to be in the room much.

My bad for booking thanksgiving weekend during a pandemic. Of course the room rates were EXTREMELY over inflated and that's what you get booking maybe I was expecting too much given the cost.
Continental breakfast has been canceled due to covid. There is no contact (good thing) with reception, just an envelope with your name and key. The room was sprayed with a heavily scented sanitizer? Air freshener? Opening windows did not help and with a no vacancy hotel I didn't know what other option there could be I'm pretty sensitive to perfumes, so that was my biggest complaint next to

Let me start by saying we had an issue at check in that was quickly resolved. The website said there was a microwave and there wasn't. I was traveling with my sister who is recovering from cancer and has to be careful with diet so we brought food for her. But a call to the office and they changed rooms for us.
I understand that things have to change due to Covid. But there were a few things I was disappointed in. First no one there to check you in. There's an envelope with your name clearly written on the outside visible to other guests checking in with your room info and keys. I picked
