I was quite pleased with my stay at the Olympia Lodge. It was clean, spacious, private and quiet tucked behind lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove. The price was decent and wasn't overall pricey like some of the other lodges nearby. There were plenty of parking for all of the guests. The WiFi was good. The amenities were basic, but up to date. Overall, I would not hesitate and stay here again the next time I am in town!

We have stayed here many times and the entry door (sliding glass door) is different but the area is quiet and so we like it here. I feel safe and I love the rooms. I do have to warn people about the bed corners. They are perfect height to your knees and I hit it everytime we stay here - OOOUUUUCCHHH! My fault. Aside from that the beds are comfy and we always get a room with a balcony so that we can sit outside and watch the sunset and have a sip of wine. I love this place!

Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly staff.
We were surprised to see the room had a sliding glass door as the entrance. The only privacy consisted of sliding wooden slats that let the lights from outside the room in throughout the night. The room smelled of dampness (given it is so close to the ocean it’s understandable however there are ways of remedying it). Our clothes and belongings smelled after our two day stay. There was no way to safely air the room out as there was no window(s) and no way to leave the sliding door open without giving someone the opportunity to walk in.

Why is this place so incredibly drab and dull? It has zero charm and decor. Nada!! It's like they don't even try to make these rooms nice or attractive. Location and high ceilings are the only reason to stay here.

This place could invest like $10,000 and make dramatic improvements.

They should/could add some pictures! Why is every wall bare?? Go to Ross and buy some paintings!

Add some plants, even fake plants. Or motors or wall decor!!

Paint the rooms a vibrant color. These rooms are 50 shades of beige and it's tragic. Paint the ceiling beans a vibrant color.

We had a great time at this place. Decent size rooms, nice balcony, and couple minutes walk to the best tide pools in CA. When we found out that our next vacation spot burned down due to the Dixie fire we extended our stay here and the staff kindly arranged it so we didn't have to switch rooms despite being booked at 100% capacity.

Staying at Olympia Lodge was the worst travel experience of our lives. It was absolutely HORRIBLE!! 😡👎👎👎😡
We've stayed at hotels around the world but have never been treated as unprofessionally and rudely as we were by the manager, Jasmine and the staff person Olga.
They violated the terms of their own agreement by attempting to charge us for the FULL TIME of our stay ($774.00) the very first night. (We had planned to stay there 5 nights and they were going to charge us for all 5 nights immediately.)
Their website does NOT authorize them to do this. It was an ILLEGAL attempt to

My family and I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff are friendly, and working in hospitality myself, I know how staff make the first impression. I must say I was impressed from the beginning.
I will encourage people to book a room with a balcony because the standard rooms have a sliding glass door that may not be everyone's preference.
After a very fast check-in, I went up to my room. The room was clean, smelt fresh, and had wonderfully crisp linen on the beds. The bathrooms are tight and a little outdated, but I think the hotel is working on making improvements a little at a time.

Worst place ever, checked In and when I went to the room it was very stuffy and stinky. The door wouldn't lock correctly and we were in the main hall where everyone would walk by.
When I went to talk to the front desk the manager and another worker could careless. Told us there was nothing they could do and it was our problem.
When I finally realized they were ot going to do anything to help, I asked for a refund and I would go elsewhere. They refused to refund me and called the cops saying we were disturbing them. The cops came and got our side of the story and talked to the manager about

Didn't even finish the night. Left and went somewhere else. The "ocean view" was a tiny gap between trees. A room that website stated was for 4 people can barely fit 2. Place is beat up and not well maintained. Walls and ceiling are thin, and neighbors are very easily heard. There was no way to contact anyone (I tried all 3 numbers posted) so I left slept somewhere else and called the next morning asking for refund. Was ignored and now can't contact. Do not stay here.

A unique place with sliding doors at this main entrance for each unit. The carpets were old, there were air within the pipes making the sink sometimes spit out the water, and the water pressure in the bathroom was low. However, their Wi-Fi was excellent and their customer service was friendly.

The positives, this lodge is a clean and comfortable place to stay. It's right along a main road in Pacific Grove and felt very safe. It was also close to restaurants (right next door to Lucy's on Lighthouse, one of our faves) and sights (a couple minutes to Point Pinos lighthouse, Lovers Point and the scenic Asilomar trail).
No breakfast and housekeeping due to COVID. However, they leave plenty of towels, and toiletries to tide you over, which has been an issue in other hotels I've stayed in, especially having enough towels. Although some rooms do have regular doors, ours was not

We were a little skeptical of this place because of previous reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. This is a no frills hotel. But it is super clean, the staff was amazing and the location couldn't be any better. Me and my family loved how cute it was that we had an actual key for the room!
The only complaint, as many have stated, is how thin the walls are. We heard the suitcase wheels move on the floor above us and their footsteps.. Luckily they were not loud people and we had no one next to us.
Overall, great place and would stay again.

We had a late after 9pm check-in where front office was closed. Staff made it clear on what needed to be done (they had a paper posted with my name on the office door along with a phone number), so that was appreciated. Just did a quick overnight stay here with my family. Room felt dated, but still relaxing since we had a 5 hour trip from the South. Cool sliding doors with shutters and real keys. The modern TVs didn't have the clearest cable signals (looked like standard def/VHS tapes) but we didn't come here to watch TV anyway so no biggie. It is located in a nice part of town. Lots of things

MY WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!

When I called American Express, they called the hotel and the hotel LIED to Amex and said they offered me a refund at time of check in WHICH IS A BLATANT LIE. Absolutely appalling! I can't believe they would lie like that, because my concerns were clearly AFTER check in and I've never had a hotel offer me a full refund AT TIME of check in. Wow!

Very frustrated with this hotel. I noticed how small the parking lot is for this hotel. At night time, I had to park 1 block away from the hotel on the street. When I walked into the lobby to check in, I became

I come to the area often and I like to stay in Pacific Grove - it's close to where we want to be and it's quieter than some of the more touristy parts of the Monterey peninsula.

I had stayed at the Sea Breeze next door before, which is a 2-star hotel and although it was fine it was really basic. We decided to give Olympia Lodge a go because they had more upgrade options.

I checked in on a Saturday afternoon. The driveway entry is super steep so if your car is low, be careful when turning in. Check-in was fine.

The set-up of the property is pretty odd - each room is entered through

Choose another hotel.
This one is not worth the money.
I looked at several hotels in the same price range and I wish I would have picked any other.
The rooms are incredibly outdated, the beds and pillows are uncomfortable, heater takes forever to work, not a real door (just a sliding glass screen) felt really unsafe, but the worst part is the paper thin walls.
You can hear every word, faucet, and toilet surrounding.
The entire building is made of old, creaky wood so you can also hear every footstep outside. Stomping starts around 5 am.
If you like to sleep in, or sleep at all, or enjoy quiet then

Only took off a star because if we truly had a partial ocean view (which we reserved) we never seen it! Tub was slow to drain but room was clean and area was fairly quiet. Just a short walk to the beach. Jasmine was great!! We would stay again!!

My first stay but it won't be my last! It's a wonderful place that's easy to find and convenient to Monterey and Pacific Grove. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. No continental breakfast this time but there is a charming restaurant right next door. The beds are super comfy and I love those big marshmallow pillows. The rooms have a fridge and coffeemaker which is always convenient.
Jasmine and Olga at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Thanks to everyone at The Olympia Lodge for making this a great stay!

Always a cute place to stay in Pacific Grove. Make sure to book One of the two deluxe rooms overlooking the office area that has a view of the ocean. You won't be disappointed! Office staff is always accommodating. Units do not have AC but there's always a nice breeze. If you can get by a few cosmetic things... you'll enjoy! We stayed three different times. Also very close to the poor man's Pebble Beach golf course.. I think it's called lighthouse! Enjoy

This "lodge" is $160 per night and it's worth $50 at best. Let's discuss why:

1. It's not walking distance or convenient to anything. It's actually on a very dark street at an odd angle.

2. They don't have AC, ok that's fine. But if you know that you have guests checking in and it's august, how about opening a window or something. We walked in to a 90 degree room that never cooled down. On top of that we asked for a fan (no ceiling fans are available) and we were brought a fan that looked like it was made in the 70's.

3. Speaking of 70

I found a deal through Groupon which was so much better than other places. I didn't expect much, and we stayed 2 nights so hat we can visit the aquarium nearby. We stayed in a double room which looked remodeled. However, the bathroom was dated and kinda gross. But because the late reception by the person at front was so nice and considerate, I was sort of able to look past it.

For the price per night, it was a not so bad deal. All the other places near the aquarium would cost us at least $200/nt. Groupon rate here was much lower. The hotel is a motor lodge with some renovation inside
