Reduce emotional suffering from anxiety, depression, excessive anger, or childhood trauma? Cope with illness, divorce, or loss? Enhance performance in a career or school? Improve, save, or end a relationship? Get your life back from self-limiting thoughts and behaviors? Connect better with a teen or help get a teen's life back on track?

Or perhaps you wish to explore the many layers of your "self" to better understand who you are, how you got here, and ways to grow in a more directed, intentional manner? Services are available in-person in Marin County and over secure video service within California.
Services
I am a Licensed Psychologist with a general psychotherapy practice in Marin County-and throughout California via secure video. I provide therapy for adults, tweens, and teens; counseling for couples; and consultations to individuals, families, and other psychotherapists. I am an authority on anger and road rage and specialize in problematic anger.
I do not take insurance directly, however, I can provide a monthly statement of the fees you have paid to me so you can potentially receive reimbursement from your insurer. In this case, I advise you to contact your insurance company and ask about your specific coverage for "out of network" mental health services.
Anger is a normal human emotion that warns us that something is being done to us that is threatening, unjust, or gets in the way of getting our needs met. Of course, we can become angry at ourselves for a variety of reasons. Anger by nature is not a "problem" nor does it always require "anger management."
We all know "Road Rage." As portrayed in the media, it is a potentially deadly, destructive roadway phenomenon. In fact, around the world, violent acts of road rage kill hundreds and injure thousands of people each year, and they cause millions of dollars of damage.

These acts include ramming one's car into another car; getting out of one's car and assaulting another driver with fists, baseball bats, and tire irons; or attempting murder with weapons such as firearms and knives. However shocking and damaging these acts of violence are, they are extremely rare compared to the millions of safe, uneventful journeys taken each day around the globe.
These are some of the most common signs of depression, a very difficult-to-tolerate mood episode that many of us have experienced at one time or another. However, there is hope.

I help clients decrease their suffering from depression by working together on several fronts: identify and work through current and past experiences and issues that lead to the depression; examine and modify the "depressed thinking" that tends to maintain the overwhelming symptoms of depression; develop coping skills to reduce depressive reactions, build strength and self-confidence; and improve self-care, mindfulness, and life balance in one's daily routines.
