Been going here.off and on for about 15 years. Consistently very good! If you can get a parking space nearby, it's a great place to take your visiting guests.

We are visiting Burnsville for our anniversary trip on 9/23/21 and decided to visit this place for dinner, we arrived at 7:55pm and was not greeted with a smile or a welcome. We were looked at by the younger guy up front with a look like how could you come in at this time?!?! He looked at his watch and the lady grabbed menus and said we can seat you but will need to take your order quickly. We said are you all about to close and they said yes at 830, we said we could go else where and wouldn’t return. They said are you sure and so we said YES!! Terrible customer service!!

What a great place for lunch, especially when it's 75° outside. They also have indoor seating. I had the roasted red pepper 🌶 and smoked gouda soup with a BLT (add extra bacon). The homemade soup was one of the best I've had in a long time. Perfect layers of flavor and the gouda had small chunks instead of all blended in which enhanced the taste. The BLT was spot on crispy and look at the blood red tomatoes. Yummy! I would to come back and try some more items. Service was friendly and thorough. Highly recommended

Went for lunch about 1pm on a beautiful summer Friday. 4 adults, 3 children, and 2 dogs. Pet friendly!! Constant inflow of people, but seated us in the covered garden within 5-10 minutes. Great atmosphere! Good, reasonably priced food, though nothing jumps out as "I wanna go there for that!" Mostly sandwiches and salads at lunch, and chicken tenders with fries was the extent of the unwritten children's menu. Decent selection of beer. Thoughtful service, patient with children and pets. We'd come here again👍

Great place to grab lunch when you visit the downtown. The food was delicious and the price was awesome. Will visit it again.
The restroom decor reminds me of Japanese flower arrangements. It is a nice touch.

Not as good as usual. I ordered peppers and onions on my sandwich. What I received was little bits of something green and orange in the cheese. Not sure what it was. Service was excellent. Very nice servers.

Stopped for dinner at this quaint little restaurant during a weekend trip to the mountains. Very friendly staff. I had the grouper tenders with potato wedges and a side salad. Hearty portions and very filling. Mom had the ribs and said they were fantastic, very tender. My friend had the flat iron steak and was not impressed. They have a beautiful patio nestled behind greenery in order to give privacy between the patio and parking lot.

This is a very busy place with a small dining room but very large outdoor dining space so if it is not nice weather plan on possibly waiting for a table at both dinner and lunch.
I have not had anything bad here and I have had the best Ruben sandwich ever at this establishment. Their soaps are phenomenal of what I have had BUT if you don't get there pretty early you will miss out because they are often out of soups posted on their daily special menu. The mushroom and Brie was out of this world delicious.
Their lunch and dinner menus are similar but I have found their lunch menu is better

Great value! Big portions and great flavor. When you stop in you'll find right away that it's a local favorite.
The staff was ridiculously polite and kind with their service. We had multiple servers ask if we had been helped during our visit.
The tuna melt was a total delight and was reminiscent of my beloved grannies recipe and presentation.
The outdoor covered patio was perfect for the rainy afternoon we stopped in. Many happy friendly faces.
Overall quite thrilled!

I absolutely adore this place! Garden Deli is a absolute gem in this neighborhood. There sandwiches and entree are so elevated compared to other restaurants across town. The flavors remind me of the time I use to live in New York City and I couldn't be more fortunate to come across this restaurant. I always order there Reuben sandwiches because of the nostalgic flavors. A home run favorite of mine are their half-rack of BBQ ribs. Slow smoked with homemade savory BBQ sauce.... count me in! Thank you Greg (restaurant owner) for taking care of my cravings.

I will be back soon but with more

A landmark family-owned eatery on the town square in Burnsville. Authentic deli items with fantastic sides (try the macaroni salad) and a great selection of homemade specialty dishes. Try the apple pie...the best anywhere!! A must for lunch if you're in Yancey county

Arriving in town yesterday in the evening, I hadn't had a chance to go to downtown Burnsville. I found several good recommendations, but this is the one I chose.

The menu is pretty straightforward, sandwiches and salads, but oh boy are they delicious. Waitress was helpful in helping me select my choices. I had the roast beef and Swiss on a Kaiser roll served with au jus for dipping. It comes with a pickle spear, cole slaw and your choice of potato or Mac salad. She recommended the Mac salad and it was probably one of the best I've had in a restaurant. The sandwich was divine

You're better off buying at the grocery store deli because the food is not fresh. Couldn't believe they serve store-bought potato salad, tuna is inexpensive Chuck light not albacore. We ordered a pastrami sandwich, it was a cheap cut very dry. Bottom line Is the place is too expensive for what they're serving, we're are not going back.

Sweet little cafe downtown Burnsville, NC. Choice of indoor or outdoor patio seating. The patio feels secluded due to all the vines and vegetation. Beautiful place on the inside.

I ordered a BLT (without the B) and it was delicious. I also had a choice of a side and I opted for the fried potatoes-basically fat French fries. The food was delicious and so was the service.

I've been here two or three times now and it's okay. I do wish they were open for lunch at least until 3pm. I feel like they need to give a little more effort into actually preparing food rather than opening boxes and cans, but maybe they just do that for lunch. I've never been there for dinner. I would also like to see sweet potato fries on the menu as another side option.

On this beautiful crisp October morning my wife and I suddenly and unexpectedly decided to vacate our south Charlotte digs for a night at the Nu Wray Inn in the uncomplicated little mountain town of Burnsville, North Carolina. Our choice of the Garden Deli for dinner was a simple one as it was directly across the town square from our inn and there were few other non-fast food choices in the historic downtown area.

The mixed Yelp reviews had us a bit uneasy but our concerns were quickly put to rest by our superb server Tonya. The very comfortable and cozy bi-level dining room had light oak walls

Surprised at the negative reviews, but a couple things..... You are in the mountains. Slow down. Take a deep breath. Enjoy the garden atmosphere outside or the A/C inside. Your food is coming. If every table is taken it is going to be a few...is that really surprising?

Every table wasn't taken when we stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday, and we were waited on quickly and courteously. We ordered sandwiches, they came out in a timely fashion with the correct condiments. My pastrami was very good, and I really liked the potato salad. I don't think it was homemade, but I don
