BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT SIGN. I wish I could give 0 stars. They rent you a subpar apartment (other than like Park Place and City View), and expect it to be in luxury condition when you move out. Our stove is old as heck, and we were charged because it started rusting. One small scuff in the walls, you are charged like the needed to repaint the whole room. We were charged for problems that we specifically noted on our move in sheet. We got less than half of our security deposit back, and charged an obscene amount for problems that can be a result of normal wear and tear. For context, at my last apartment

I lived in boardwalk properties for two years. BIG MISTAKE. I lived at city view apartments and a house managed by them and owned by Tim (HE IS A TERRIBLE LANDLORD, expanded later). They ripped us off on our security deposits BOTH years. Took money away from us on damages we included in the beginning of the year. Never took care of damages we repeated spoke to maintenance about and reported and LATER CHARGED US FOR THEM. They also do not well negotiate about these damages and attempted to continue to blame us for the damages despite the documentation we provided. The maintenance workers are nice

The management of this apartment constantly enters tenants' units. If you choose to live here be prepared to have someone enter your apartment at least once a month, but usually more. Every unit is a showing unit under City View's lease, so during the Fall of each year at least 10 different showing of one's apartment will be done by management (showings are done late into the night on weekdays past normal work hours and on weekends). While this may be to the advantage of new tenants, this drives away tenants already living in the units. In addition, City View constantly enters units to "change

Beware, Awful Management. A physical altercation took place between my friend and her roommate, who live in the same Boardwalk apartment. Police were involved. The roommates not involved went to the management company to see if they could be absolved from the lease due to safety issues. Management said "no" as there was not enough evidence and they could not break the lease. The roommates all moved out for safety and the renters had to eat the lease for 6 months, 2K plus. Renters are now struggling to get their 500 dollar security deposit back because the deposit is linked to the

I have been a tenant for 10 years at Yellowstone Salons. I can't rave enough about the excellent customer service Boardwalk Investments has provided consistently through the years. They have managed the building I lease from with great care, kept it always clean and modern looking. They have also demonstrated tremendous professionalism towards tenants and have resolved any building issues in a timely fashion. If you are looking for reliability, security, and dependability you will not be disappointed working with Boardwalk Investments.

I would NEVER recommend that anyone rent from Boardwalk Investments. Though I enjoyed living in City View apartments, I would have never initially signed the lease if I had known Boardwalk Investments would try to charge my roommates and I over $10,000 after we moved out.

One of my roommates left a small scratch on the elevator wall when moving her futon out of the building. The scratch is hardly noticeable and only occurred because the protective padding had fallen down. Not only did Boardwalk Investments take our entire security deposit-- they charged us an initial 10k so that they could supposedly

This rental management company is the absolute worst in Madison. They take advantage of the students and only focus on the higher end apartments, specifically those catered toward epic. If you cannot serve everyone equally you should not be doing this. They do not maintain the older houses and the steps on the front of the house my son rents on mound st are a danger having been injured. They also had my sons car towed and did not even inquire to him so maybe he could have moved it. Bad bad customer service. The woman would not even let me talk without hanging up.

Like many other reviewers, I wish I could give this management company NEGATIVE stars. My husband and I had terrible experience after terrible experience with Boardwalk after moving to Madison. The apartment was filthy when we moved in (the kitchen was coated in grease, literal piles of trash in every corner). The door to our apartment had hinges on the outside of the unit (not safe) and they refused to enforce locking the exterior door to the building with the businesses down stairs (after hours). Homeless people were sleeping in the stairwell and smoking cigarettes and putting them out on

I'm not sure why this review is showing, but not my original review, so I'll just post it again here and hope it sticks this time. Boardwalk is fantastic if you want BED BUGS and want to rent from sociopaths. As an additional update, I SUED Boardwalk AND WON my court case against them (you can look it up in the Wisconsin court system). Thanks for the $1,200 back :) it was fun when the Boardwalk representative delivered the court-ordered repayment and began yelling obscenities at me in a public area. They truly have the best customer service. Full review here:

DO NOT RENT FROM BOARDWALK. I've lived in Madison for 5 years as a student and I've never had a worse experience with a management/landlord company. Our landlord has confused our MGE bills throughout the whole year of 2014-2015. My 3 roommates and I are now recalculating all of our bills because Boardwalk claims there is no record of us paying any bill whatsoever to MGE or Boardwalk. They are VERY untrustworthy, disorganized and RUDE. I can truthfully say that every encounter I have had with Boardwalk Investments, whether it be stopping by their office to drop off rent, or discuss a bill

In July of 2014, I moved to Madison from the east coast. I have never been one to take big decisions in stride, and finding a place to live was no exception. Naturally, I agonized over where to sign a lease among the high rises downtown, but finally settled on Park Place Apartments by Boardwalk Investments. (Get it? Yeah, like Monopoly!)

Needless to say, I was nervous leading up to move-in day. But it has been smooth sailing since then.

The building was brand new and my apartment was in pristine condition upon move-in. The unit is the perfect size for a one bedroom, and a bargain compared to

I wish I had the option to give them NO stars. This is the worst management company I've ever had to work with. I loved my apartment, but moved out just because they are the WORST.

The day I moved into my apartment I was HORRIFIED at the condition of the place because they said we couldnt move in until the 16th because they have a "cleaning crew" come in. It was disgusting. We had to clean the whole place before we could even put any of our stuff in. And at the end of the year, we cleaned again and they gave us less than half of our security deposit back saying the apartment was

Have had a wonderful experience moving into 212 Bassett St. (Park Place Apartments). The building is gorgeous, brand-new, and the office staff have been incredibly helpful and understanding during the move in process. I was shocked to see the negative reviews and have had a really good experience thus far!

The apartment is very well set-up, with accessible laundry on the floor, brand new appliances, carpets, etc. The underground parking is very convenient as is the location of the building! Very satisfied with the support and communication with the office - they are always available and willing

They don't deserve one star. WORST MANAGEMENT COMPANY EVER!!!!!! Was faithful tenant for 4 yrs, always paid rent on time. This company would not extend lease one additional month rent (despite months of advance notice) for no valid reason other than being jerks. They couldn't even find renters for that additional month. Overpriced rent for Middleton, cheap building (poor insulation and energy efficiency). Ants in spring, thin walls, nails through carpet, heat/air conditioning could reach $300/month, no visitor parking (get threatening tow tickets from nearby parking lot). Total jerks

If you ever want a security deposit back from these people be ready to go to court. Initially I received a letter stating that my entire deposit was being kept for damages that just "happened" to total the exact cost of my deposit. After filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency, I was told by the owner of this company that the letter I received was just an ESTIMATE because he was just "too busy" flipping all of his downtown properties! Some of the damages listed were things he & I even talked about before I moved in! I said "don't worry about fixing

They charge very unreasonably on stuff they can think of. Be careful when you move OUT... document or take a picture of everything, including the vent, sink, faucet, light bulbs, outlets, floors, bath tub, bottom of every doors and windows, etc. In other words, take a picture of every inch in the apartment when you move out. Just to make sure that you can't be fooled of false repairs or charges.

For the new renters, be SMART. Document everything, every issues when you move in. If during your tenancy, you found some issues, take a picture right away, and take note of the date, including
