We continue to look for ways to improve the guest experience at "The Yancey", including a renovation of Four Seasons Building in 2019, and Sea Building Building & Easy Beach Access Rooms in 2020, and starting on Main Building rooms in 2021 & 2022. We look forward to welcoming you on your next Outer Banks vacation or hotel getaway, and look forward to joining what families have enjoyed for generations.

Superb Motel!!!
The huge room was cleaned perfectly with an awesome view of the ocean.
We watched the dolphins play from the balcony, as the sun came up one morning.
The employees are very friendly and professional. They were fast to help any way they could!
This is my 1st choice of any place to stay at outer banks!! I will definitely be back soon!

Stayed in a renovated room that did appear as in the photographs by the owner. A loose toilet was taken care of on request as well as the wall heating/ac unit that was vibrating. These units are notorious for being loud. 64db and 87db with the compressor for heating on. This is equivalent to a moderately busy restaurant. Beach access was good and in walking distance to a few restaurants.

Such a nice place to spend the night. Clean, organized and friendly. Thank for hosting us. Well come again.
What to mention is that we really didn’t like how much garbage we produced with just having a breakfast at this hotel. Everything was Paket in plastic (EVERYTHING) even the plates and fork was one way to trough away. This is not in keeping with the times (21. century!)
Other then that great place. This is not meant to be rude it’s more like constructive criticism.

1st time in the Outer Banks and it was good. The weather was not the best but it seems like a great place to visit with family. The hotel was awesome! My only complaint was the amount of hair in the towels. We will definitely come back again to experience the Outer Banks in full effect if they will have us again!

Not quite 5 stars but definitely the best 2 star hotel I have ever been to. Front Desk dude with the long hair was awesome. Wish I got his name. Amazing beds, rooms smelled super clean, and it was super reasonably priced. Was forced to come down to North Carolina last night and they were able to check me in for a good price and at 10:00 at night. I look forward to returning.

NEVER STAY HERE!!!! This "INN" uses bait and switch to get people to stay with them. Their rooms look NOTHING like the pictures online. I would be more okay with this if it was not for the fact that they only provide pictures of their renovated rooms so when you arrive on the premises and realize your room looks nothing like their pictures and isn't even in the desired location that you paid extra money for, it would be an understatement to call it a disappointment. The room I was given looked dirty, old and small. This is not a hotel, this is a motel. The type you should lay a tarp down over the

The room looked nothing like any of the photos. Completely bare walls, the thinnest white blanket and most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. At 32 weeks pregnant I could hardly move after night one from sleeping on squeaky painful springs. The ac was so loud every time it cut off or on it woke us up. The outlets were all completely loose to where I couldn’t even plug a phone in except for one outlet without it just falling right out. To top it off..there was NO shower curtain in the bathroom. Who does that??
The only saving grace for this place was the location. Everything else was supremely

The pictures looked nice, and the reviews were a little scattered from "oh no" to "I am excited to go!" When we arrived, I feared the worst when the front desk didn't call us that our room was ready, even though they said they would. We drove around for 2 hours trying to occupy our time until check in, annoying but not the worst thing that could happen.
When we finally checked in and went to our room, we were pleasantly surprised! We were in the Four Seasons building on the ground floor with a view of the dunes! I was expecting no view or a view of the neighboring property. The room was nice and

Great experience. Clean rooms, comfortable bed and pillows. Shower was nice and they had plush towels. We loved the ocean front balcony! They had a continental style breakfast and you could make a waffle or eat the grab and go muffins, bagels, danish, granola bars, etc.
Room was remodeled within the last couple years and it looks like their maintenance takes pretty good care of things. The staff we encountered was friendly. We especially enjoyed chatting with Karen, she gave us great info about the area. We only stayed 3 nights this trip but will definitely stay longer next time.
