Services
The original building of the Sea Ranch was constructed in 1963 with two oceanfront expansions taking place in subsequent decades. The Sea Ranch Resort is now owned and operated by an entity controlled by dpM Partners, beginning upon purchase of the property in 2011. Extensive renovations were immediately initiated and completed before re-opening and several more were done in phases since that time.
Book your stay early, pay for it in advance and you will receive a special advance purchase rate. If cancellation of or change to reservation takes place, guest will forfeit total room charge plus tax. Offer not valid for group reservations. Blackout dates or other restrictions may apply. This Advance Purchase rate cannot be combined with any other offer, sale promotion, or existing reservation.
Kites can be purchased in toy stores, dollar stores, or made by kids before the beach visit. Boogie boarding, Surfing, Skim Boarding and Stand Up Paddle Boarding are all great vacation activities! The surf in the Outer Banks is ideal for all of these fun sports. Boogie Boards can be purchased at just about any local store or you can purchase a rental board (of most types) offsite from Ocean Atlantic Beach Rentals!
For beach rental items like beach chairs, umbrellas, etc., we recommend the offsite company Ocean Atlantic Beach Rentals. Please note that they provide delivery and servicing (daily set up and take down) only for weekly rentals during peak summer season. We recommend making these arrangements well in advance of your stay to ensure availability.
Reservations require the first night deposit in order to hold and confirm requested dates and accommodations. Must present identification and credit card upon arrival. A 48- Hour cancellation notice is required. Reservations cancelled after the required 48-hours before check-in will forfeit deposit.

A different Christmas.
We wanted to get away for Christmas and Sea Ranch had a holiday special. Ocean front room means literally 50 feet from the water. Watch the sunrise in the morning.
Batteries went dead in the tv remote. I called the front desk and within minutes a kind man brought new batteries and stuck around to ensure they worked.

BED BUGS!!! BLOOD STAINS!!! Came to get away the weekend before Christmas to relax with immediate family. While this is obviously no 5-star hotel the pictures made it look very nice, but it was definitely not. It was "renovated" with very minor changes in various spots. Walked in the room it made a very well first impression. A tidy monotone hallway with a nice recessed light. The master bedroom had a pleasing aesthetic. The second bedroom was nothing like the master bedroom... White walls, bland decor, the lamp wasn't even plugged in nor did it even have a plug for it to be plugged

Front desk employee D was amazing. He was friendly and very helpful! We rented the condo which was very spacious! Upon arrival once we opened the door to our room all we smelt was clean! Amazing! The room was very clean and beautiful! The view of the ocean was amazing! We left the door open to hear the waves. The resurant had amazing food for breakfast , lunch and dinner! This was a girl's weekend getaway for my bestie and it was an awesome relaxing time! All we could have asked for and more! We most definitely will be coming back! This hotel is highly recommended

Comfortable beds and clean rooms. The lobby is welcoming and clean and they have average tasting coffee in the lobby. It feels like a very old building with uneven cement walkways and dirty hallways and staircases are full of dead bugs. The evening and morning front desk clerks are super friendly and helpful. The view is spectacular so spend the extra money and get a balcony overlooking the ocean!

Stayed Monday 8/30 till 9/2. Room was very spacious. Mattress not the best, but bedding and pillows were comfortable. Staff was friendly. Location was great. Pool was pretty big compared to nearby hotels. Lost 1 star because absolutely none of the staff or guests were wearing masks, even the housekeeper. Concerning considering we are still in a pandemic.

We chose this place because it is directly on the beach and has an indoor heated pool. For the price, however, believe we could have done much better. Facilities appear to be in need of some TLC and modernization. The front desk was very nice and responsive. While departing our room one morning, we reported that the shower was backing up and they had it resolved by the time we returned.

Came down to OBX 4 days we got a top floor ocean front room. From the elevator entrance to the entrance to our room you could tell it's not kept up and dirty in those outside areas. Outside our door when we checked in there was bags of dirty towels and bags of trash that was left there until the next morning. Our room was clean but could use updating. The reason we wanted a ocean front room with a balcony is so we could sit out in the morning. The balcony was dirty and the windows were not clean. There was a lot of bird droppings on parts of the balcony that have been there for a while

The balcony room was beautiful. The food at the Bistro was great as was the staff. Diane was wonderful as she ensured a very seamless room change for us when we added an extra day.
First impression though was Demetrius who was rude to us. My husband asked about a refund since upon arrival we learned that the restaurant would not be serving meals 3 times a day for every day and that was one of the reasons we booked there. Demetrius immediately told us he would give a refund and we could go elsewhere. He also stated that everyone in the nation knew this was happening everywhere and that we would

Overall we had a great stay. We were greeted by a friendly man at check in and the process was fast. The room was what I expected and very clean. Beds were good, pillows a little lumpy. The refrigerator didn't seem to be getting as cold as it should. The bathroom had some small scratched tiles and the bathtub was clean but chipping. We did have to ask for a blanket as the beds only had a very thin fleece type blanket on top. Extremely quiet at night. Convenient access to the beach. I would stay here again!

We spent a few days here before moving into our rental. It was a great stay and I don't understand the two star rating by some websites. The rooms are very clean and the restaurant in site is very nice. We had a two-bedroom suite and it was very spacious and comfortable. We had a fantastic view of the ocean and were near some of our favorite restaurants. This place deserves a higher rating.

We were grateful for the chance to get away to the ocean for a couple of days in late stage COVID times, and we were glad to get an oceanfront room at a reasonable price. On that front, the Sear Ranch Resort delivered, and that's the best thing I have to say about our experience. We did get an oceanfront room, though the windows were so grimy we didn't have a clear view of it unless we went onto the balcony. The staff also came through to clean multiple times a day, especially in high traffic areas like the lobby and the pool. On the occasion when we needed towels from the front desk

We were able to get a room at the last minute after Phase 2 reopening. Clean older hotel. Ample parking. Great beach access. We stayed on the ground floor & have a private outside entrance. Nice indoor pool. Good restaurant on premises. Friendly helpful staff. Bonus for us is the availability of nice beach chairs and umbrellas for rent at a reasonable price. A guy takes your order for the week and sets them up each day for you. Also, pet friendly.

Beautiful location directly on the Atlantic Ocean. 2 bedroom 2 bath condos are spacious and well appointed. Kitchen had everything we needed. A great way to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee while sitting on the balcony looking at the waves roll over the shore.
Beach access directly from the hotel. Beach chairs and umbrellas available for rental. Ron had our chairs set up for us each morning. Large indoor pool and a workout room in case the weather doesn't cooperate.
The front desk staff was very accommodating. Erica printed out a map for us to help us enjoy a morning hike.

They did offer to move the room, but since we had connected rooms, we just used the bathtub that did have hot water.

My husband and I are from NY and planned our wedding through email and phone. Belinda made the experience stress free and was always there to assist us in any need we had.
The location was beautiful and had everything we wanted to provide to our guests. Food was absolutely amazing, still getting compliments on our menu. The food stations were a huge hit for our wedding! The staff couldn't have been any more professional. We truly feel like we have made new friends and plan to visit every year!
