Throckmorton's Watch and Jewelry uses a combination of centuries old techniques and the most modern tools available to bring you the best of service and pricing in Austin. We will entertain all requests and offer free estimates for repair and custom work. Because we strive to give the best and most complete service, we offer appraisals by a third-party, GIA certified appraiser that does the appraisal in-house.
We've all seen high end watch companies partner with car companies, racing teams, sports teams, etc. Rarely do you see them partner with an environmental non-profit like the recent joint effort between the Coral Restoration Foundation and Swiss watchmaker, Oris. The watchmaking company was moved by the work of the foundation and was inspired to create a special model of the Aquis dedicated to supporting the Coral Restoration Foundation.
For millennia, humans have used jewelry to adorn themselves. Putting those sparkly objects on our bodies is meant to, and does, bring attention to us. While we love for someone to ask about Granny's antique platinum ring, we often dislike seeing Granny's hands when we look down, which brings us to the reason for this blog post.
Every day we field calls asking if we can fix a broken clasp, replace a battery, service a Rolex, fix Great-grandma's platinum wedding ring, etc, etc. Today I happened to pick up the phone and a gentleman told me that his wedding ring had been cut off and he wondered if it could be fixed. Oh, and it was cut off in two places and stretched out of shape, can it still be repaired?

I stopped by a few days ago to repair my 22-year old Seiko kinetic watch which is no longer keeping time. I was told they could NOT repair it and instead to call Seiko. I’ve had this fixed once before so I tried Jewelry repair at Barton Creek Mall (2nd floor near Macy’s) and they fixed it in a few days for $50.
It’s puzzling why Throckmorton can’t repair a watch and refuse to try when the other place fixed it so easily. Go down the road instead.

Great place and wonderful people to shop with, however, there prices are double the price of Jewelery stores such as Jared, Kays, etc… Very friendly and knowledgeable buisness as it pertains to diamonds and fine jewelry. I also found what I was looking for at a different jewelry store in the mall for a better price.

Michelle quoted a weeklong turnaround time, but I was all set in less than 24 hours. I would much rather a business estimate conservatively, than have a surprise later.
