Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors
About a month before his 15th birthday, Thomas got a job working for Abercrombie and Patterson, a funeral home in Forest Park(Clayton County). In the 1970's he built Parkway Garden Chapel and in 1987 bought and managed Tara Garden Chapel. He is no longer affiliated with Parkway or Tara.

Over the years Thomas kept up with the modern developments, while resisting, at the same time, the corporate forces that emphasized money over service and reputation.Thomas wanted to get back to operating his own funeral home with emphasis on genuine customer service with personal and professional care.
Services
We are here when you need us. When someone passes away there are several decisions to be made. Funeral and cremation arrangements can be relatively simple or very elaborate. At the time of death, decisions will have to be made about where to take the family member. Almost always that is to a local funeral home.
Staff members of Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. I grew up in Forest Park, Ga and graduated from Forest Park High School in 1986.

Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Thinking about the inevitability of one's death is subject that few like to consider. For many, actually moving ahead with the pre-planning or pre-paying for their funeral is even more difficult to act on. When one begins to understand the financial and emotional pressure that a funeral can thrust on our loved ones, it becomes clear that planning in advance is a considerate and responsible thing to do.

Avoid this funeral home. The level of service and attention to detail is not what it used to be, unfortunately. In addition, the Funeral Director promises things in person but does not keep her word.
Update:
Thank you for the response. As you referenced, there were several disappointing issues regarding the service we received.
1. We were assured in person that no obituary would be posted until the family written obituary was submitted. Nothing was mentioned of a requirement that it is only done during “business hours”. I am just glad my precious grandmother passed away during “business

I have used this funeral home 3 times. Each time our family was thoroughly impressed with the compassion from the directors and staff and they very accommodating. Our family was guided every step of the way with their open communication, which in times like this are very comforting. We received many compliments on each service, it was very organized, ran smoothly and their ability to try to make this time as painless as possible was very appreciated!

I cannot say enough about the staff at Thomas Scruggs Funeral Home. I must adv that this was my first time walking into a funeral home, so I was not sure what to expect when walking in. Kelsey was a joy! Not to mention she has the perfect balance of professionalism and emotional concern. Kelsey walked me through the entire process and took care of everything. Kelsey was even able to get a few laughs out of me during devastating time in my life.
I thank the Scruggs family for taking care of me during my time of grief, and thank you for taking exceptional care of my mom.

My family has used Scroggs for 40+ years. You won't find another Funeral Director that will take care of your loved one like Scroggs does.
