Services
A funeral or memorial is a customary way to recognize death and its finality. Funerals are held for the living to show respect for the dead and to help survivors begin the grief process. They also give mourners a chance to share stories, create memories, fulfill religious beliefs & customs, participate in a support system, and gather at a peaceful place during a time of confusion and uncertainty.
Holding a funeral or memorial service for your loved one is a positive first step in the grieving process. Family members and friends get a chance to say their goodbyes, and at the same time, they get to share strong feelings with one another. In the days, weeks and months following the service, people continue to need others to lean on for understanding, encouragement and guidance.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of planning ahead has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.

My father in law passed away six years ago and we chose Watkins Funeral Home in Jonesboro and was blown away with the professionalism and service! I recently lost my dad in March this year and decided to go with them again because I wanted to give him the best service he deserved, which they absolutely did! Even though I had some family members that didn’t agree with this funeral home but I knew my dad would be proud. Mr. Watkins and his team was outstanding during that difficult time while I did everything myself, they eased the work a lot for me. I will always be extremely appreciative of all

Do not take your loved ones to Watkins Funeral Home.
My husband and I met with them after my mom passed and decided on a funeral with cremation to follow. I met with them again and we went over everything my mom would be wearing for the services. I was specifically told the clothing would not be returned because it had to be cut off, but the jewelry would. After picking up my mom’s cremated remains, I asked for her jewelry and one of the employees said he couldn’t find it but he would have someone call me the next day. I never got a call. After calling multiple times asking for my mom’s

My experience wasn’t so pleasant at first being that I lost a dear love one 😢. Well Ms. Erma definitely turned lemon into lemonade. Customer service, understanding , great energy, personable, caring to other’s need @ the difficult moment. A true meaning of a director of a funeral home. We thank you ERMA!!!!!!!!!!

I recently lost my best friend, Helen Diane Wright. Regrettably, I decided not to attend the service due the Covid. I had looked forward to viewing the service via Watkins Funeral Home (Jonesboro) Facebook, but it was the most awful ending to a beautiful life. The person in charge of the video was an amateur, who lacked the skills to correct the continuous buffering that created a 'cartoon effect'. They missed several moments by only focusing on the main screen from the very back of the church and the sound quality was fair. As a final farewell, you have to do better!

During the most difficult time in my families life with losing my son, the staff members were compassionate, empathetic, courteous and consoling very warm and welcoming. I needed every bit of that, coming from a mother who just lost her only child. They did a fabulous job. Kimmee, Stan the man. Thank you. Thank you Thank you.. To the entire staff down to the drivers an all who took part in handling and prepartion of my son. My family thank you as well. I highly recommend this family to all who are need of putting their love one away in a decent and orderly fashion.
