As a local we have been to many Waikiki brunches . Hau Tree is a great find. We Enjoyed a delicious and affordable brunch at a table right on the beach. All the tables have beach and ocean view and open air dining. Our service was prompt and friendly.
Will definitely be back for dinner.

Popular spot for hotel guests and locals alike. It can get busy but it's not as crowded with tourists like on the main waikiki beaches

We came here for brunch to celebrate my birthday this year, and they definitely helped me start my day off right!

We started off with the Avocado Toast *of course*, as well as Oysters on the half shell, which were both delicious. The avocado toast was beautiful, and it tasted just as good as it looked, if not better.

We also tried the Hau Tree French Toast, and the Lobster Roll, which did not disappoint either. The French toast was simple, yet satisfying, and the lobster roll was fresh and light.

With the beach right there as the most beautiful view, and good food to go along with it, I can

My coworker and I came here for lunch. The restaurant provides valet service, but street and meter parking are also available.
It's located right on the beach and people are able to sit outside and enjoy the view of the ocean. The staff was friendly and we were able to be seated right away due to our reservation. It wasn't too windy of a day so we were able to enjoy the weather, however, because it was during the day, the beach was crowded with beach-goers in their swim suits. Made me think it's probably better to come for dinner since there would be much less people for diners to

Atmosphere: Naturally beautiful with the view of Kaimana Beach. It was remodeled to it's up to date. It was smart to remodel. I love the upgrade!

Food: I had the cheeseburger. It didn't come with the lettuce tomato and onion. Literally just the meat and cheese. It came with fries which were shoestring fries. My friend had a salad which she loved. The burger was good but not enough to say I'd be back for the burger.

Cocktails: We ordered a cocktail which tasted like espresso but it was bright green color. It was amazing. Although my friend went back with friends and the same drink

A true 'port in a storm' - the Kona low had brought a ton of rain, and we were done driving for the day. Hay Tree was right next door, and they were able to find us 2 seats in the bar area overlooking the ocean (what little could be seen in the driving rain). Totally open air space and not too many other diners.

We had the steamed fish (mahi) on mushroom congee, Brussels sprouts, potatoes, salad. Add on a few cocktails, and a pretty good experience considering the awful weather.

Immaculate vibes, great food, and a stunning ocean view. We had a reservation for afternoon lunch and their menu offers a variety of savory and sweet brunch items.

Lobster Roll (5/5): Absolutely delicious. You're getting large generous chunks of creamy lobster on top of a buttery toasted bun that's both crunchy and soft. There is a layer of avocado inside the bun that adds an extra layer of creaminess. It also comes with a side of fries!

Steak and Eggs (4.5/5): This wagyu steak was pretty solid, perfect medium rare but could have used a touch more seasoning. It wasn't the butter

This review is on the breakfast and brunch service and menu:

4th Star for the ocean view and tropical ambiance.
3rd Star for the terrific service
2ns Star for the fantastic Bloody Mary
1st Star for the iconic location in the Kaimana Beach Hotel

A great place for gathering of the gals or a meal with your besties or a meal with your visitor from afar.

The menu is basic- breakfast items and burgers and salads. What more do you need? Hot coffee or tea and adult beverages for the asking. Portions are relatively large so be careful when ordering or have a dining partner you can share entrees with

I stayed here two years ago. Very good location, on the beach.
This hotel has changed hands. They are adding a younger, hipper vibe. The entire first floor has been renovated and is quite lovely. Our room has also had some cosmetic changes which are nice . There was a concierge desk and we found him to be very helpful. They have taken this space out.
The center of this hotel is open and acts like a giant echo chamber. When anyone closes their door it literally sounds like a gunshot. A little unnerving at first. They need to work on the doors to make them a soft close. I didn't notice this on

Brilliant! This beautiful boutique hotel is a real gem. Slightly outside of busy and noisy Waikiki but not too far away. We easily walked into Waikiki through the park and along the beach. The hotel is literally right on the nicest beach in Waikiki. The hotel has both a restaurant and lobby bar and are both extremely cute with great service and choices. Our room was large, clean, modern and gorgeous!! We had a huge balcony with a lovely view of Diamondhead and the park. The hotel was gracious for all of our requests (more towels or lotions or coffee or whatever) and really made us feel special

We stayed here for a week and this place was amazing! It has a great location just a short walk to downtown, good rates, good accommodations, and amazing staff. Staff was always so friendly be it just cleaning crew in the elevator or the front desk everyone was great. Would like to give a shout out to the lady who lead the lei making classes as we did the basic and advanced classes. She was above expectations and a wonder teacher. When we come back we will surely stay here again!

With seating right on beautiful Kaimana Beach, the best thing Hau Tree Lanai has going for it is the view. If the weather is nice, this is definitely the perfect spot for a picturesque open-air meal, and a great place to bring out of town guests for the quintessential Waikiki/Gold Coast beachfront dining experience.

I came in for brunch at 12 on a Friday with my boss and a few coworkers. Ordered the Kaimana Cheeseburger, which comes with 2 local beef patties, bacon jam, and special house sauce on a La Tour roll with a side of fries. Yummy for sure, but unquestionably overpriced at $25.

Been here for both dinner and brunch now prior to reviewing. The main dining area is outside right next to the beach. This means make sure you are dressed for potential heat and wind. And remember this place is called Hau tree for a reason, it is not unusual for a few leave to fall onto your table during your meal. There are also birds and a few geckos because you know it is outdoors. There is an indoor private dining area available though. Every time I've been here the wait staff has always been friendly and attentive.

As far as dinner goes the hamachi crudo and flank steak were my

This place is PERFECT for 1) out of town guests, 2) covid safety, 3) kids.

We took my sister in law, an out of town guest, here for brunch on the beach. The view and atmosphere was GORGEOUS! We made an 8am reservation; the beach was relatively empty and shaded, and my son played while we waited for our food! Vaccination is required and it's an open air outdoor restaurant that is so cute and comfortable! We were 100% comfortable from a covid standpoint!

The food itself is excellent! I remember hau tree from when I was a kid and it is not the same at all lol. It's high end, sort of

Made reservations in advance and asked to be seated outside on the patio. Arrived on time and was taken to our seat right next to the sand. It doesn't get much better than that, when you are literally eating next to the sand and can see the ocean and Waikiki in the distance.

The service was great and the food was also delicious. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and a side of their Portuguese sausage. The pancakes were fluffy and light with some lemon curd in the middle. It tasted so good! My mom had the regular breakfast but loved the potatoes and crispy bacon. To drink I had the garibaldi

We just finished our stay here and I can't say enough about this place. Staff are amazing. Extremely courteous and helpful. The ocean view rooms are perfect to enjoy the sun but still in the shade most of the day. The rooms were overall kept up to date (only complaint would be the washroom doors are slatted so you don't have privacy if you have someone else in the room).
It's right off Kiamana Beach which is small but a lot less busy than Waikiki during the week. Also a lot of fish if you want to snorkel at the beach. The hotel provides umbrellas, towels, and beach chairs. We'd come back in a

The hotel is right on the beach. A short walk from all of the major hotels. The staff is super friendly but the room we had was small and very dated with just one picture on the wall. No coffee maker but it has a refrigerator and safe. We went on a budget and it’s perfect for that.

Met some friends here for a 5 pm dinner. That was the only time available and the reservation was made a week prior.
They did have valet parking with a validation option. We did street parking which wasn't too bad.
The hostess was super friendly and let us pick our table. We picked the table closes to the ocean. It was a perfect night and the trade winds were flowing and our umbrella was set up perfectly. Sunset was gorgeous.
The server was very knowledgeable on what was celiac friendly. I ended up getting the Salad and gluten free cookies and cream for dessert. The rest of the table ordered

The good and the bad, coming right up from someone who had dinner here 3x and has eaten at the bar maybe 7x (I work nearby).

The Good:
-gorgeous view
-friendly service (bartenders might get super busy but they're super friendly!)
-King Salmon Tartare (heavenly)
-Ahi burger (i brought 2 business partners here and between 2 guys, they ate 3 of these)
-Lobster roll (my personal fave, it's hard to get such fresh, lobster and their brioche is perfect)
-Baby kale salad (I could drink the green goddess dressing it's so good)
-hau tree highball (so refreshing!)

The Not-So-Good:
-fresh

Nice room, nice beach area. Not too busy. A monk seal gave birth to her pup the first day we were there, so the beach was half blocked off to keep them and visitors safe. Great customer service as well. No complaints.
