We are affiliated with the international Jiu Jitsu Team, CHECKMAT, known for its stellar athletes. The name CHECKMAT came from the strategic and tactical comparisons we make in Jiu Jitsu and chess and the manner in which it was written because of the meanings of the words "Check" (chess) and "Mat" (tatami).

Today we have academies in various countries and are considered one of the best schools of Jiu Jitsu and Submission. Eli has been training under Leonardo Vieira, recognized by the IBJJF and USIBJJF and teaching Jiu Jitsu for over 11 years. She came from a very athletic family she has been training Jiu Jitsu for almost 6 years and got promoted as a Purple Belt by her husband Elizandro Beda "Eli".

We are so grateful for this place! The people here really care about your kids and your success. When you’re first learning jujitsu or when your kids are first Learning jujitsu. It can be very awkward and kind of scary they really have a lot of patience and help you feel safe. Thank you Brandy and Eli for teaching us how be stronger and more confident.

Beda bjj, is a haven to people from all walks of life. People who would never associate with each other become family, and Eli and Brandy welcome them with open arms. The amount of jiu jitsu knowledge from Eli, and many of his blackbelts is truly amazing. Come in, be apart of the family, and learn BJJ, the "gentle art".

Wonderful place to train and a family friendly academy. Safe and inviting atmosphere that promotes friendship, healthy lifestyle, and respect on and off the mat. The jiu jitsu technique taught is second to none, but be careful because it can become addictive! 😀

I drive over 40 minutes each way to attend this gym, and have been for quite a number of years now. My kids train in the kids classes as well. The owners are caring people with integrity, kindness and sincere love. They have fostered an environment that is built for the family. When you train here, you truly feel like a family.

Beda BJJ gets 5/5 stars. Of the other martial arts gyms in the area I have found this place to be very clean, family friendly and all around great learning environment. Eli and Brandy are awesome and make you feel welcome.
