JSW Companies (who owes/manages Norris Court) is great to rent from. I have had nothing but positive experiences working with their office staff. The apartments are beautiful and well-maintained. Maintenance concerns are addressed quickly and thoroughly and they listen carefully to your concerns. I would highly recommend anyone rent from JSW @ Norris Court.

I moved to one of JSW's properties last year, and prior to that I rented from a management company that didn't seem to care about their tenants and just wanted the money. So far, I have nothing but good things to say about JSW. Nikki and Barb have both been so kind and helpful, from finding an apartment to any issues that might arise. I've never had any trouble with maintenance, and they're usually fast at responding to requests. I definitely recommend JSW if you're looking for an apartment in the Madison area!

Literally the worst the place to rent from. They’re a hot mess and constantly screw you over. They patronize their tenants and don’t even bother to help you. Avoid this place at all costs.

I rented through Severson Properties under JSW for 2 years. The property I lived in, and the properties they showed us, were run down and not well-maintained. The buildings are old, but the management does NOTHING to invest in them besides putting a bandaid on the problem for later, if even.

I noticed water marks on the ceiling that coincided with the sink and shower from the upstairs unit but nothing was done because the water wasn't actively dripping onto the floor. I can only imagine how long that rotting wood will last before someone ends up falling through during their shower!

I feel lucky to lease from JSW properties. My partner and I had nothing but a great experience with their team. JSW understands that some renters like the feel of wooden floors and the charm older apartments offer. Yet they maintain them so well that they don't fall apart and still look modern. Their maintenance request system is easy to use and the maintenance team always shows up within 24 hours of the request. I had a few questions and Nikki, in their office, is wonderful and a great help. All around they seem to care about their units and those that occupy them. Thanks JSW! You are more than

An okay company while you are renting from them -- they pretty much just leave you alone. However, the second you tell them you are not renewing your lease, all hell breaks loose. They schedule a million showings (which, I understand), but they oftentimes mess up the notification system and give you less than 24-hour notice. At one point, they scheduled a showing day-of and gave me 1 hour notice. This instance was also before I even decided if I was renewing or not -- they listed my apartment without consulting me. Move out came and I was informed that I should hire professional cleaners and I

I'll say this: I am very glad I don't live here any more. TJ Wright is a spoiled privileged daddy's boy who feeds off the power trip of financially manipulating vulnerable graduate students and early career professionals who are socioeconomically underprivileged compared to himself. He needs to check his privilege ASAP. Also, I'm pretty sure this business used to be listed as JSW Properties on Google, and they changed the name to eliminate previous negative google reviews. Overall a sketchy place. Would not recommend.

My husband and I lived in the Norris Court apartment complex owned by JSW Properties for a year and a half. Not only was our space cute and cozy, with wood floors and lots of windows, but also conveniently located close to downtown and far enough away that it still had a private feel.
The maintenance and other staff are incredibly attentive and even helpful with things not directly related to the apartment unit—for example, I once requested for more clotheslines to be available out on the patios, and a couple of days later, there were nice, new and sturdy clotheslines. All of my apartment maintenance

I lived at a property owned by JSW for a bit over three years. The location was an older house and had some natural degradation. Both myself and my roommate moved in mid-lease and ultimately decided after three years not to renew further. Part of this was the continued pushing forward of renewal to mid October from January 1 making renewal for the next year due after two months of living there. For reference, my new location is renewal due three months before lease expiration.
During my time there, they were a fairly reasonable company. My service requests were generally completed. One time I

This review is for JSW's management of the 415 Wisconsin Ave. property, which I've been renting for the past four years. The reason I didn't switch to a different property management company during that time is because I hate moving and rent downtown is absurd. However, if you're considering renting from JSW, I would advise against it. See Cons list below, but TL;DR: They continue to violate building codes (specifically: MGO 27.05(2)(h)), they're requiring that I hire a professional carpet cleaner upon move-out for normal wear and tear of my carpet (illegal under ATCP 134

I have lived in the Norris Court Apartments for one year. I just renewed my lease. I am writing this because the only other review I found about this apartment complex and the apartment managers was outdated and not congruent with my experience (at least of the place since Fall 2014). I realize this is lengthy, but the prior review was so bad I felt compelled to write this in response.
The apartments are older so the managers are stiff on residents not putting holes in any of the walls and requiring us to add felt to all of the bottom of our furniture/items that could scratch the hard wood surface
