LCDS was founded in 1971 by a group of parents who sought an alternative to public school education. We offer programs for 2, 3, and 4 year olds together with a full accredited Kindergarten program. Our program is attended by approximately 125 children, with families coming from Westport, Weston, Wilton, Norwalk and Fairfield.
The Twos Program encourages children to celebrate themselves and to be eager explorers in a safe environment. The schedule of the day provides the routine, consistency, and predictability that a toddler needs for growth and development. Teachers guide these young learners to grow in social awareness and confidence.
In the Threes Program, teachers encourage children to develop and implement the social skills that are necessary to be part of a caring community of learners. Play provides children with opportunities to develop social skills, express their emotions, develop self-confidence, and grow real self-esteem.
