New Heights Counseling
Today you are one step closer to a more positive relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you. As a clinical therapist, I aim to remind you of and help uncover your true potential. While we can't change past experiences, we can work together to understand better and resolve the challenges you have experienced.

We will address behavioral, thinking, relationship patterns that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life through evidence-based approaches and techniques. My services are ideal for clients looking for support and guidance through a challenging situation, overcoming past difficulties, or simply moving in a new direction in life.

I have known Cody for a long time. He is one of the most genuine people that I know. He is kind, thoughtful and always ready to give a listening ear. He is someone I feel comfortable opening up too because I know he will be non judgemental. A truly wonderful human being.

Racist. Overheard this counselor using racial slurs about another patient while I was on hold. Clearly the line wasn't muted by mistake, but I was shocked and the lack of professionalism. I suggest trying to find any and all alternatives before turning to this person for guidance.

I am a Nurse Practitioner that specializes in primary care for LGBTQ+ individuals. I know Cody personally— he is the owner and a licensed therapist. He is extremely caring, professional, sensitive, holds good professional boundaries, and gives his all to make a difference for a marginalized and vulnerable community. I would happily and confidently recommend any of my patients see him for counseling.

I have referred over a dozen clients who need help with their mental health to Cody as their Physical Therapist. I was troubled to see some negative reviews on this page someone had pointed out, so I wanted to leave my experience here.
I have known Cody for years and he is meticulous & methodical in his approach for his ethics, and has been a great to help to many, treating everyone I have had a chance to follow up with kindness and integrity.
To anyone checking including those I may have referred, a current string of one-star reviews are from brand-new Google profiles that are a clearly a targeted

I am not personally a client of New Heights Counseling but I've had the pleasure to connect with Cody Merrell (Owner and Licensed Clinical Therapist). Cody is one of the most down to earth individuals I've ever met. We typically bump into each other while we're both working and each time, without question, Cody is always invested in what's going on with me and he actively listens. It's hard to find people who you can have real, genuine conversations with because of the instant gratification of technology but Cody is one of those guys. I highly recommend Cody as a person and it's no surprise that

I’ve known Cody for almost 20 years and in that time have known him to be a kind and honest person that has always done his best to treat people well.
In more recent years I have greatly benefited from his online presence that has tried to educate and inform on LGBTQ+ issues. I trust that his professional work benefits his clients as much or more as his expertise has educated and benefited me while I have had shifting ideals.
I would recommend Cody as a therapist to anyone that was looking for one knowing that he would treat them with professionalism and respect.

I am not a client of New Heights Counseling but I have known Cody for over ten years. He is kind, warm, and sensitive. As a therapist myself, I would feel 100% comfortable referring anyone to Cody for therapy, especially if they are in need of someone with experience in the LGBTQ+ realm.
