I have known Lou, the owner, since he opened the store. I was blown away by the service, and especially the food! Once I tasted the food, I felt that my company, Empyrean Benefit Solutions, would love to try Stockyard as a caterer. For over a year now, Stockyard has been my company's BBQ caterer of choice, not just for internal company events, but also our clients.
Many times clients visit numerous times throughout the year and always request Stockyard as their lunch. Many times, Lou himself is out here delivering and helping set up the food. I can't tell you how much of an impression a good caterer can have on corporate events. Lou, thanks so much for all you do for us.

When in Houston, Stockyard Bar-B-Q is one of the many good BBQ joints you'll find me at! I usually come here with an empty stomach because there's no way you can leave without feeling stuffed full of goodness!
I always get their "Two Meat Platter" with pulled pork, sausage hot off the grill or smoked brisket for my meats, Mac n Cheese, Pasta Salad or any of their fries as sides along with a slice of their cornbread. Their Stuffed Spuds with Chopped Brisket is so good and perfect for sharing because it's huge!
Not to mention, I can't get enough of their Banana Pudding

We had bbq from here for a work lunch. It was the family size meal for 6, which meant we could try a good amount of items. There was turkey, sausage, and brisket for the meats with the western beans, dirty rice, and heart attack potatoes for sides.
I think it was certainly edible bbq, but nowhere near being a place I'd recommend given the strong bbq scene in Houston. Let's start with how incredible the heart-attack potatoes are as a side ... y'all need to get down here if for nothing else to take some of this home with ya.
Pork ribs fall off the bone the way they should, brisket just melts in your mouth, add sauce if you want but none is needed.
Add the cheesy goodness of the Mac-n-cheese and please finish it all off with the banana pudding

I was pretty excited to give this place a try, but it was super disappointing. The brisket is very dry almost like beef jerky. Green beans were too salty/ over cooked and the mashed potatoes looked like they been sitting out. Im giving 1 star for the bread that came with it. Never wasting money here again.

Well well well… my girlfriend was feeling some BBQ this Sunday and going off of the 4.3 stars google reviews (which should be a solid 4.7) …I ordered the baked potatoes with the chopped brisket and you have to get it with everything included. (Check out the picture) It was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend stopping by Stockyard Bar BQ 👍🏽

Nastiest wings ever!!!! They're supposed to be smoked. Taste like they have a smoke sauce on them. The breading on them tasted like they came out of the freezer section at your grocery store. Inconsistent texture. Some were light in color and others were burnt. I ordered 12 and only ate 3. I couldn't stomach any more.

Backstory behind me coming here: I went on a long bike ride and skipped breakfast and lunch. So of course I was dying for food. BBQ had been on my mind thanks to my YouTube recommendations (don't judge). Since this place was on the way home, I called in a takeout order of the 3 meat platter (brisket, sausage, ribs, potato salad, Mac n cheese), an order of smoked wings, and pecan pie. After pick up, I dashed home to make everything presentable and started digging in.

I'll start by saying this establishment abided by the COVID-19 guidelines, the quality of the food was less than stellar and due to that fact I WILL NOT visit this location again, I'm literally just leaving the Urgent Care after eating from Stockyard BBQ. I've ordered online from this location multiple times and I've had some pretty delicious food but the in house experience wasn't good at all. I ordered dry and spicy ribs, with corn, Mac and cheese and 2 cornbread muffins, the Mac and cheese must have sat out for to long or something.

Stockyard Bar-B-Q...its good, real good! Its not Houston's best BBQ, but it will certainly satisfy your Texas BBQ fix. Prices are reasonable, service is good enough, and Southern rustic decor will set you in the mood for your meat sweats. The $21 three meat meal is a lot of food for the money!
Beef Brisket...good and smoky, but I've had better.
Sweet and Wet Ribs...tasty and smoky, but wish they were more tender. Dry & Spicy Ribs...see above. But the rub is lovely!

Luckily for me, the BF didn't want the short rib which was the tastiest thing I ordered. It was so good and huge too. It was enough for three meals. It had great marbling and was juicy and tasty

I was in Houston for a conference and my co workers and I were craving BBQ. All places were closed and we found this gem! The food was BOMB! The people are super friendly and were very helpful, answering all our questions about the menu. I ordered the brisket, wet ribs and pulled pork with regular bbq sauce on top of all it. The sides were BOMB! (Mac n cheese and the heart attack potatoes) the banana pudding is a "favorite" here, and I see why!
