Ames Community Preschool Center has been serving central Iowa and Ames for nearly 50 years. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality experience for each child and family who enters our program. Over the years, we've expanded to provide a variety of social and educational experiences for children ages 18 months through 12 years at our main center located at 920 Carroll Ave, and seven school-age sites throughout the city of Ames.
ACPC was established in 1968 as the first nonprofit child care center in Ames. A group of interested community members, including some members of the First Christian Church, worked for several years to get the project off the ground. The center started with 35 children (ages 3-5 years). The First Christian Church offered use of its space.

Report
Our child has only been going to ACPC for a few weeks but the difference between ACPC and the last center we were at in town is night and day. We LOVE ACPC! The smaller class sizes, 1:1 attention, the security, how structured it is. Compared to our old center there appears to be the normal chaos of a 3-4 year old class room and things never seems to be out of control. My child is happy and is better behaved at home now and not mimicking the behaviors of children in a poorly run facility. We are paying a little more but it is worth the extra money!
