All services include a sermon proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus and the powerful promise that God is with us through life's darkest most difficult hours, as well as a special children's message for the kids. Each worship service also includes confession and absolution, Scripture readings, Creed, prayers & Lord's Prayer, and traditional hymns.
Here is a special message for you from Pastor Jenks, to offer you encouragement as you keep coping with the pandemic and the toll it is taking. Rather than lose heart, read this message and take it to heart. Please share this message with everyone who could use an encouraging word!

We believe the Bible contains what God's Holy Spirit spoke through the prophets in ancient times and later through God's son and apostles. Therefore, we teach only what they first taught so that everyone who will listen comes to know God. St. Paul is a place for the entire family to come worship God, study His word and have fellowship with one another.
If you are coming to Sunday worship with us, we encourage you to check our calendar to verify worship times. Most Sundays we follow our standard schedule of two services, one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 11:00 a.m. In addition to Sunday worship, during the seasons of Advent and Lent we hold special weekly Wednesday evening worship services.
St. Paul is committed to nurturing the needs of families to know Jesus Christ, to grow in their faith, and to go out daily in His love. Family Life Ministry at St. Paul is dedicated to help families seek to embody the love of Christ by affirming, equipping and supporting families to live in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The members of St. Paul reach out to the Ames area community and beyond in a variety of ways. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Please contact the church office to learn more about any of these activities and events. Hope Gift Market is a way to reach to both our local community and to help around the world.
1st and 2nd grade students will begin to learn the basic Bible stories and the love of Christ for them. In grades 3 and 4 youth will continue exploring Bible stories and begin connecting those stories to their lives and family. Students study lessons published by Concordia Publishing House and have supplemental Bible-based activities to begin their study to become confirmed in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

We’ve had the pleasure to send our kids to preschool as well as participate in American Heritage Girls at St Paul Lutheran. In addition, we’ve been invited to attend various family events at the church and have gotten to know a variety of members there. If you are looking for a congregation that loves God and genuinely cares for all people young and old—this is it.
