El Maguey Mexican Restaurant

I live right down the street from this restaurant. So if I’m eating alone, the bar here is my go-to. The staff is really friendly and the food is way above average for Mexican food. It’s locally owned by very good people.

Great food. Fast service and they always deliver the same high standard food at very reasonable prices.

Late Friday lunch with a friend. Quickly seated and drinks ordered. At the same time we ordered a large guacamole.
Chips and salsa followed along with the guacamole.
A pet peeve, this guac was puréed to a paste consistency; I really like chunky guac.
Our chips ran low and were not replaced. Our meals came out and my friends was wrong and they had to remake it. My ‘burrito chihuahua’ was very tasty, but came out naked on a plate, where’s the typical accompanying beans and rice?
Overall a decent meal, just a couple thing from making it great.

I always make sure to read over the menu and find what I think sounds good. I usually reread the dish multiple times to make sure if it says it comes with cilantro or not because I personally don't like it and fall under the 10% that thinks it taste like soap. Anyhow I ordered and got my dish and everything on the plate was covered in cilantro. By the time I had my plate passed down to me our waiter was gone. Given it was a Sunday, they were busy. But he never made it back around until everyone was done. However, I left hungry but it was taken of my bill.

Restaurant = Clean! Shrimp were great and deveined!! Loved it! Refills came without being empty… tables were clean. Staff was dressed professionally and clean-cut. So happy with our choice to eat here.

Every single item that each of us ordered was delicious, hot, and perfect. The Tacos el Pastor had a great flavor combination and had a little side of mixed foods like grilled onions, roasted jalapeño, cold cucumber and radish slices. My fiance loved the queso, guacamole, salsa, and fajitas. We were seated quickly and service was outstanding (wish I got the waiters name). It's worth the drive to Sand Springs to have such great food and service these days! Muchas gracias!!

It was over all a good experience with quick service. The food was very good.
The restaurant, utensils, and cups were clean.

Had to try. First time here. Wonderful atmosphere. Kid friendly. Greeted as we walked in. Fast service with fresh hot food. They also have a full bar! Definitely worth a try people....you are missing out if you haven't been here.
