He developed exercise programming using ABA teaching strategies with additional supports, to teach children on the spectrum how to exercise. The approach is designed to create a safe, but fun exercise experience for your child.

David Crowley was first introduced to working in the field of special education in high school, when he took an internship with the school Speech Language Pathologist. Obesity and being overweight are problems that are affecting the youth of this country. This epidemic is magnified within the autism population. Research from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) state high rates of obesity for adolescents on the autism spectrum, with the highest rates approximately 32 percent 1.
The Personalized Exercise Plan or PEP is the cornerstone of our programming at Adaptive Exercise. Similar to the IEP many individuals with autism have for their education, the PEP is based on assessments to ensure your child receives the most appropriate exercise programming. Each plan is individualized, monitored and reviewed through data analysis as well as video review.
Adaptive Group Exercise is a traveling group exercise program available to ABA programs, gyms and schools. Our group exercise class uses a number of ABA strategies along with added supports to involve every athlete. The classes are fun, beneficial and safe for all participants. If you are looking to find a healthy, social leisure activity for your program, contact us about bringing Adaptive Group Exercise classes to your program.

David is amazing and his instructions pairing with the visual support tool works out really well with my son. It was so impressed that my son was able to follow David's instruction with minimal support from the Behavioral Staff on the first visit. My son usually requires a 2:1 support to keep him on a new task and transition to a new activity. He is very attentive and the directions from David is clear, slow with the gesture, visual support helps my son understand the expectation. I think I like the best from David is his teaching methodology with the blending therapies. I highly recommend this

David is amazing. My son had put on a lot of weight during the pandemic and was really out of shape. David has been working with him for over two months and it really shows. The weight is coming off slowly just due to the increased movement, and he is getting his stamina back. The program he has created for my son is very challenging, but so much fun. My son gets so excited every Monday for David to come over and "play" with him. David is not only fun, but professional, respectful and friendly. I cannot recommend David enough.

My 15yr old son (ASD) just did David's class this past Saturday and it was awesome. The environment was very friendly and welcoming. The kids doing the class seemed to truly enjoy themselves and get a workout too. Each exercise is easily adaptable for all levels, which is nice. David is clear with directions and knows how to keep the kids focused and moving. I like how the parents can participate as well. Highly recommend trying a class.

My son started with Adaptive Exercise and right from the starting point I could see that David knew what he was doing. The trainings are virtual for now but even the virtual exceeded my expectations. The session started promptly on time, the directions were stated clearly so my son would understand. The thing I like best was the positive reinforcement throughout the session. Best of all my son felt great about himself and I could see increased energy and self esteem after only two sessions. Thank you for providing this service!

Adaptive Exercise is a wonderful place for people with special needs. My son is 23 years old and is autistic. Working out with me wasn't do it. David came and worked with my son and it was great. David knows how to get him working and when to give him a break, he is wonderful.
I highly recommend this program to anyone who needs to bring exercise to their special needs loved one! Thank you David for all you do for our families!!!

We have had David come to our house for 6 weeks now and my daughter is a willingly participant. He makes the activities fun and he’s very calm and encouraging at the same time. Isabella enjoys knowing she can get breaks after some great exercise. She’s getting her cool down while she breaks so she’s doing so much more than she has ever done. I also am impressed with the small groups Adaptive Exercise offers for the children and young adults. I would highly recommend!

Adaptive Exercise is an amazing exercise/skills training company for individuals who have disabilities. Each exercise routine is adapted to fit the individuals needs and modified on each clients progress. David’s knowledge of ABA is evident in the way he creates programs to motivate his clients. The group classes are not only teaching individuals adaptive movements, but also targeting social skills development by having everyone work together. I absolutely recommend this company to anyone who has a child or adult with a disability looking to learn more functional movements and skills.
