Amazing food. Also great for vegetarians and vegans. Not a TON of vegan options but a few and freaking delicious! We got the spaghetti squash, plantains, brussel sprouts, and elote. Absolutely one of my favorite meals in San Antonio!

Service was great; food was so-so. Fish was a bit bland and the shrimp were too salty but the ambiance is amazing and its a swanky little joint with loads of character!! Its a good place to meet friends, share a drink and relax near the river.

We came in at 5pm the time they opened for early dinner there were people already there mostly at the outside dining which is the patio when we left at 6:46 pm the place was almost full on a Wednesday night. The food was also very much on point there was this explosion of contrasting flavors for the snapper fish and the shrimps and all the flavors such as the avocados , the cilantro rice , lime crema , the mango mezcal pico de Gallo , and of course the pickled cabbage . I never regretted choosing this place to dine during our anniversary. Highly recommended indeed !

One of my top 5 spots for brunch or drinks! So good and pretty! Right next to the more secluded side of the San Antonio river walk.

I'll never go here again or recommend. Service from host and waitstaff was cold and dry. No smiles no conversation just straight to the point. They do nothing for birthdays even though they ask if we're celebrating anything while making a reservation. I really don't see the post of that question if you don't do anything for an occasion. We ordered mimosas and the waiter just gave us our cups and bottle didn't even open it for us. Disappointing experience

Super yummy. I got the potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and rice with goat cheese. I went with a friend who is not vegetarian and I am vegetarian and we both found lots of super delicious food. We went early because they said they had no later reservations but it was very empty so not sure if they were just understaffed or what. You should try to make reservations a few days ahead of time. Some of the chairs were very uncomfortable but we asked to move to more comfortable chairs and they were fine with that. Server friendly. Overall pleased. Lots of open air even so it felt pretty covid safe.

This place has such a chill vibe and I love the bright teal color throughout. We only came here for happy hours drinks, so I can't comment on their food, but the drinks were really wellmade. Server was attentive and the music was good.

For such a beautiful restaurant the staffs attitudes are so ugly. My reservation change from 3 to 4, after a lot of attitude from the host we where moved from an indoor reservation to an outdoor, we where seated at a dirty table. We proceeded to order the Mamosa kit, and the server loudly popped the bottle and then did not serve any of the bubbles. I have never been to a restaurant where the server does not serve you the wine. We were pressured and rushed into making a food order and we're given sass when it asking simple questions about the menu. In the 30 minutes were sitting outside the

Used to be good. Idk what happened. $200 dollars later, four people, each had 2 drinks, 2 split a meal (terrible), one had a salad with the staple dry chicken, the other had a decently cooked fish plate.
Service: they looked disgusted that we were there; let alone the ONLY ones there.
Waiter must have just started bc he didn't know anything about the menu..
Mojito and margarita drinks
Nope
The food was even worse. No flavor, dry chicken.. the fish was cooked nice.
Appalled.
Not recommend-- don't waste your money.
Sucks that the place is super cute and has so much potential but

I'd give zero stars if I could

Everything went wrong. The service. The drinks. I'd assume the food is terrible as well but we didn't wait for it. We were on the patio and people were smoking right next to our table. Yes he manager refused to ask them not to. It was awful!

Finally got to try this restaurant on my visit to San Antonio's Riverwalk. Would for sure recommend making a reservation in advance we made it for lunch right when they opened at 2 PM it was perfect because we almost had it to ourselves. The drinks tasted great and the service was also welcoming and friendly we ordered a mojito & if you enjoy gin get the Yaupon 75. We ordered the carnitas tacos & the stuffed roasted Chile Relleno they were both delicious!

Beautiful location, love the glass cafe seating style, and is by the river.

Cold, curt service

Overpriced - $4 for a meager salad substitution, $5 cappuccino, both a new record in my book, even when comparing with South Beach. And this hotel isn't anywhere near anyplace touristy, by foot.

My omelette breakfast was a little too light considering the price, and maybe other dishes are better. Or just skip coming for a heavy breakfast and instead ask for the lighter options that are better priced and the same in quality and quantity. Anything with fruits are good here.

This place was recommended by my friend for brunch. We were seated by the front door next to the band. Henry introduced himself to us. Such a nice group of musicians.

The service was phenomenal. We were checked on often.

We ordered:
Salsa Platter - the red salsa was sweet. I enjoyed the salsa verde best
Plantain Cakes with Carnitas - sweet and savory, fluffy and crispy
Huevos and Chorizo - the tortillas were so good. Eggs were perfectly runny
Cubano - melty gooey cheese topped the jamon and carnitas

I really enjoyed our time today!

SOOOOOO GOOD! We stayed at the Havana Hotel, so we went to Ocho for late lunch the first day we got here! The views and good did not disappoint!

The carnitas taquitas are SOOOO good. I wish we would've just ordered two of these and called it a lunch.

I ordered the Havana hippie quesadilla and my boyfriend got to the burger on the menu. We both devoured our food. 10/10 would recommend!

Man, the vibe at this place is so awesome! We went on a Rainey weekend and were worried but it's such a beautiful patio with shutter doors - it's an old and gorgeous hotel but it sits with a great view of the river walk. The staff was super sweet and helpful.

We tried the below- the new menu is pretty small so we basically tried most of it:
- panela - so so good, get it
- porkchop - chorizo stuffed and very flavorful
- steak - this steak was not very good. Liked other meals better
- Chile relleno- this vegetarian meal was the best of the bunch! So flavorful and delish
- snapper

Our friend took us to this restaurant as it was new to San Antonio and she wanted to try it as well. Turned out to be delicious! What we realized pretty quickly was that Latin food in general was pretty good in San Antonio and this attested it.
All the food had tremendous flavor and kick it to which we loved!
- Chile Relleno is a MUST have!! Lots of flavor and spice
- Al Pastor Pork - second best
- Spicy Hippie Quesadilla - could be spicier, it was a little bland compared to the rest.

The portion sizes were big, we were hungry so we jumped to the entrees and we were glad we did!

I was able to visit Ocho this weekend and I am so glad I stopped by during San Antonio Burger week because I was able to try their Frita Cubana burger for only $8! Chef Kirk's Frita Cubana, also known as the Cuban Hamburger, features a double smash patty made of a mix of ground beef, chorizo, and spices. Topped with Swiss cheese, spicy ketchup, pickled red onions, and shoestring fries! Soooo good! So much flavor! Definitely a unique burger! On the side I added fries and a refreshing mojito!
You do have to make a reservation, so unfortunately they sat us outside where people are entering.

My girlfriend and I stayed across the water at Hotel Indigo, and she found Hotel Havana as a place we should check out. The hotel was nice, and I was shocked at their nightly pricing, especially during Covid. The cool downstairs bar was closed but Ocho was open.

The bartender told us we could sit outside with our dog, but it was too crowded for our taste so we brought the dog back to the hotel and came back over for happy hour. In my opinion, you're paying for the view. $6 cocktails for happy hour is reasonable, but their normal prices seemed high, going along with the rest of the hotel.

First of all I love the atmosphere of Ocho and Hotel Havana. It is how I picture Cuba to look like when I do have the chance to visit. It's a very laid back environment and the patio is awesome. Luckily we live in San Antonio so we have the luxury of sitting outside in November. The food was nothing special and the drinks were overpriced. I would go back but it wouldn't be my first pick.

Let me start off by saying that this restaurant is adorable! It's located downtown with a view of the river. It has minimal seating but there are always tables available as long as you make a reservation in advance.
My friends and I visited Ocho a few days ago to celebrate a special occasion. I got the Pozole Verde, a mildly spicy soup with shredded chicken with hominy and tomatillo poblano broth. My friends got the Cubano, a pork and ham sandwich with swiss cheese, red onions, and pickles, and a Spicy Hippie Quesadilla, with black beans, mushrooms, and corn.

The Pozole Verde was delicious
