Please take your pet somewhere else. This place will treat your dog for less than 10 minutes come up with charges and send then on their way. They quote you for one charge and then make up their own as they go. The receptionist is rude and office management isn't much better. Took my dog there for lyme disease shot due to tick bite. Between customer service and treatment this place is terrible.

I just came back from Blue Cross Dog and Cat Hospital in Paterson and I just want to put out there as an FYI- I've NEVER been treated more unkindly, rude and dismissive by any vet before IN MY LIFE. Very unhelpful. Not reassuring or open to any questions or dialogue from the patient. Treated like I was completely unwelcome to ask questions in regards to the health of my cat. I was told - and this is an EXACT quote from the doctor that I should just *give the cat back* since they were unable to test her for any cat to human transmissable diseases. You can have dialogue with a patient and not

Find another vet!!
My dog have problems with skin ( allergies) I told them what works for him ( that I used before from another vet) and they refused to give the medication for me. Instead they gave me very expensive different medication that I read was really bad for animals. After that they told me I need to go to vet dermatologists.

Dr. Sova is an amazing person, I've been taking a dog I rescued a while ago. Frisky had an eye problem and I explained Dr. Sova Frisky's condition and what I had gone through to get him healthy. Before taking my dog to Dr. Sova, he was taken to the Clifton dog and cat hospital that worsened my dog's condition. Dr. Sova told me Frisky needed to see an ophthalmologist and didn't charge the consultation and just charge $5 for a cone. Dr. Sova is amazing vet that just wants the well being of the dogs that go to see him.

Very unhappy with the office staff, to put it lightly. Recently I had called regarding my dog being sick. He was old and in pain and I when I called the office (about an hour and a half before they were closing) I told them that I didn't think he was going to make it through the night. Asked them if they could take us in because we knew he had to be put down. I was told that the doctor was done seeing patients and would not make any exceptions. Then proceeded to give me the numbers of places that would charge us like triple than what a visit to them would be. Before this incident we never

Took in my Shiba Inu for an emergency visit after she ingested something unknown and was not feeling well at all. Called prior to arriving, and they took us in without any issues. I did have to wait a few minutes, but I didn't mind as my fiancé took her outside to their mini dog park area, which is right by the entrance, to get some air. The vet tech was very sweet and made my dog feel relaxed and calm. After Dr. Sova Jr. examined her, and provided appropriate meds, she felt much much better. It has been a few days later, and my dog is back to her normal happy self.

I been taking my dog Bentley since he was a pup, this weekend I was their for an emergency check up. I was told that I could not be seen because I did not have an appointment. The receptionist was rude on conveying the appointment policy. My dog had a big rashes and needed medical attention ASAP. After explaining the situation she told me well if theirs an open slot meaning if someone cancelled they will see me if not until Monday. This place has changed drastically through out the years. If I could tell the future I would off made my appointment in advanced knowing that dog was going to be sick

Blue Cross Dog and Cat Hospital is a fraud.
Dr. Sova performed necessary check up, injected necessary medicine, and gave me something he made himself. I dont' know what was inside the bottle. The prescription was over priced. His statff refused to give an itemized bill before I made payment. He charged me for over $200, nothing helped.

I took my cat to get ear infection. We had to wait close to an hour to be seen by Dr. Sova. While we were waiting, there was a huge dog at the waiting area as well. The dog kept barking at my cat's carriage, the poor cat was terrorized.

I've been going to Blue Cross Dog and Cat Hospital since 1982. I feel like family every time my cat and I visit. Dr. Sova and his staff are very professional and friendly. All my cats have been going regularly for check-ups, grooming and teeth cleaning. They always treat my cat with compassion and do a wonderful job. When my cat is sick, I trust Dr. Sova's diagnosis and treatment plan. When people ask me who is my cat's vet, I highly recommend this office.

I have allowed ten months to pass, before writing this review, in order for the review to be a fair one, and not one based on emotion. I first brought my little Yorkie mix to Dr. Sova, Sr. and Dr. Sova Jr.'s in the year of 2003. My Yorkie was 12 weeks old. My first impression of Dr. Sova, Sr. was he was unfriendly. No eye contact when he spoke to me. I figured he was having a bad day and it was a dog and cat "HOSPITAL," so I let it go. My Yorkie really did not like him...I should have picked up on that. Dr. Sova, Jr was more pleasant and had a better bedside manner.

Our cat Maizy was not doing so hot, so we decided to give Blue Cross a try..
They have taken such great care of our cat from the very first visit. Dr. Sova was very honest about what the costs of the procedure would be so we can make an informed decision on how to proceed.
We couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the experience that we have had, and we will continue to come back. This is a fantastic facility!

I came here for an emergency a few months back, my observations are as follows: As a primary care veterinary practice I would look elsewhere, however the folks here at Blue Cross Dog & Cat Hospital do a good job under difficult circumstances.

They have you fill out a lengthy form disclosing all sorts of personal information from your SS# to your drivers licence # that information in the wrong hands could be devastating. I simply wrote incorrect numbers as I was paying for services in full, they must get stiffed here often. The waiting room may be occupied by aggressive dogs with questionable
