The Bassett's have been bringing you country hospitality and friendly faces, where we strive to make you feel "like you're one of our family". Located in the heart of Poolesville, a quaint community nestled in the North West corner of the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, we are just minutes from Sugarloaf Mountain and historic Whites Ferry.

Our 125 seat restaurant has three seating areas that includes a 3 season covered and heated patio. We accept VISA, Master Card, Discover and American Express. Reservations are accepted. Dress is casual. Our menu is available for carryout. Though we will always try our best to honor special requests, not all dishes can be modified.

We have been to Bassett's before for lunch which wasn't bad,but this time I had brunch. The Royal Eggs Benedict were great. They also offered a free Mimosa which was a surprise. I really enjoyed my brunch there. Our waiter was also very personable yet professional.

Nice relaxed casual bar and grill. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and lunch. Cheesesteak was awesome! Bartender was friendly and efficient!

Took a couple of friends for a lovely drive. Saw a gorgeous sunset and had an absolutely great dinner and drinks @Bassetts. All food was cook perfectly by Edwin and Maya was a perfect waitress. Veggies were cooked slightly crunchy and well seasoned. Meat was cooked medium rare as ordered. We topped meal off with apple cobbler a la mode. Come and support a great restaurant.

My husband & I had carry out dinner last night. We had steak with a delicious salad, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I had their avocado stuffed shrimp for an appetizer. It was fantastic! And they had fabulous apple crisp! Wonderful! I love Bassetts. Their atmosphere and food are a real treat❣️💜

The food was amazing! We had the crab dip that was melt in your mouth good. Only wish they had given two pieces of bread. Had the fish and chips which was hot and cooked perfectly. The only other slight thing was getting there we went in asked to be seated outside, which we did. Then the server came out and was like oh nobody cleaned this table or any.Also not the best practice with covid. Had to ask multiple times for high chair, but they admittedly said they were backed up in the kitchen

Good outdoor seating, though had trouble seating a larger group comfortably. Appetizers were great, but the menu could use a bit of work on the dinner entree front. Their personal pizzas all looked amazing. I'll definitely be trying them next time.
The only thing that disappointed me was their old fashioned. It was flavorless and, from the taste, alcohol-less. Though the reasonable beer selection gave me an alternative to flee to.
Overall, a good experience, will be going back.

First time experience as we stopped by after hiking at Sugarloaf Mountain. Sandwiches (Club, etc.) were big, delicious and were accompanied by a good portion of hand-cut fries. Would definitely stop by again when in the area.

The build your own pizza is definitely a must do! I did traditional crust, ranch as the sauce, chicken, bacon, meatball, tomato, spinach and garlic drizzle and it was amazing. The beer Battered Cheese bites were awesome too definitely a must have!

I’m not one to complain (on social media) but the food here has really gone down hill. The food is inconsistent and/or tastes rancid. Overall this restaurant is really disappointing and the positive reviews must only be from people who drink at the bar.

A real treasure in Poolesville, this homey restaurant serves dishes of reliable quality. My family has been coming for years. Generous portions, very tasty flavors, good presentation and very friendly staff. We love the starters, sammies, entrees, and desserts. Hamburgers are great. Sides are all made fresh, we were told. Brother loved his calves liver and mashed potatoes, & onion rings. I ordered fish and chips but substituted a heavenly mashed cauliflower for fries (they don't mind substitutions). Salads are fresh. Nice wines and some local IPA beers. Very nice place. Bar in another room. Parking

Great experience!!! Small town homemade food. It was delicious, the crab cakes and crab dip were phenomenal and frankly everything we had was delicious. The staff was attentive and quick. Dont be afraid to try the weekend specials! We had the tenderloin and the panko battered chicken breast. We were very please. Portions were note than generous and prices were very reasonable.
