Aup'tit Monde
Au P'tit Monde de San Francisco and Au P'tit Monde de la Pninsule are two French immersion preschools for children 2-5 years old. Founded in 2004, Au P'tit Monde (APM) offers a quality French language immersion education for children ages 2-5. Because of the way the brain develops in a child's early years, children are able to learn foreign languages much more easily at a younger age.

From day one, APM Classes are taught using French immersion. Teachers utilize a combination of visual and verbal indicators when speaking, and students begin to understand and speak French right away. The first years in school are vitally important for establishing independent work habits and developing language and social skills.
Services
Founded in 2004, Au P'tit Monde (APM) offers a quality French language immersion education for children ages 2-5. The children at Au P'tit Monde come from many different cultures and backgrounds. Through stories, songs and games children learn to understand and express themselves in French. More than half of our students come from families where little or no French is spoken.
APM curriculum is organized around the Primary Skills (les Apprentissages Premiers). Each skill is essential to the child's development and offers a core knowledge, which takes its roots in day-to-day experience, hands-on exploration, and authentic interaction. To further enrich our student's learning and prepare them for our globalizing world, we do all this in a French immersion environment.
Children's activities change every thirty minutes. This variety keeps the children active and motivated throughout the whole day. A typical daily schedule would include art, dance, math, flashcards, lesson sheets and music. With the small class size, children receive individual attention and reinforcement and are always encouraged to participate and interact.
The building blocks of your child's body should be as strong and pure as possible. We invest a tremendous amount of time and energy to ensure that high-quality foods are always provided. The school provides homemade, Natural & Organic and wholesome meals, which we enjoy together as a community. In addition, the children participate daily in serving food for their teachers and friends.
APM De San Francisco invites you to discover the benefits of small classes and learning a second language. Join us for a deeper dive into the social-emotional, cognitive, and global advantages of being bilingual. Tour the preschool cooking facility, art room, classrooms, Library and playground. My child spent 4 lovely years growing, learning and making friends at APM. He left with a solid French language and we are still close with some of the children from his class. The teachers were lovely and warm and the food is excellent (I have never been able to replicate their lasagna). I searched endlessly for a day care/preschool for my child when he was 2, and meeting the team here I instantly felt at ease. It's a really nurturing environment with the added benefit of a second language. I highly recommend this preschool!

Zoe, our oldest daughter attended the school for 3 years and she's now fluent in French with no accent. (Full disclosure, I'm French, I speak English with my wife at home, but only French with my daughters). Zoe also was begging me to stay at the school when I was picking her up in the afternoon. Extremely dedicated and loving teachers (During the lock down teachers were driving to every parent's house every week to drop off the material), great fresh meals prepared for the kids at the school every day, and a proven way for your kids to be bilingual. Highly recommend the school!

We enrolled our 2-year old daughter in all 7 sessions of the Au Ptit Monde Summer School and could not have been happier. Our preschool had been closed for 4 months because of the COVID-19 pandemic and showed no signs of reopening, so we booked the summer school. We were a bit anxious since our daughter had been with us for 4 months and we were scared that she would not react well to the separation from us and to going to a different school. We could not have been more wrong. She absolutely loved the school from day 1, and after just a week of attendance she was completely adjusted to the new rhythm

We just moved to PA and are a bilingual family (French/English) so APM was an obvious candidate for our sons. Our eldest son has now attended APM for a couple of months and we love it!

Teachers are professional and friendly, management helpful, the school itself has a lovely playground and great classrooms and the food is very good (our 4 yo son has even commented on it - in the past he never even remembered what he ate at school).

Most importantly for me, the teachers are French and my son is speaking French all day!

This is a true immersion school, linguistically and culturally. The teachers are not just native French speakers; they also tend to be educated in France. The school experience is as close as you can get to France without being there, especially since roughly half of the parents and children are themselves native to French-speaking countries.

Our son has attended for 1.5 years, and (at barely 3-years-old) has a decent understanding of spoken French (despite the fact that neither of his parents are fluent, and speak almost no French at home). His best friends attend APM. Even though he is a shy

Great school. My wife and I put our twin boys there and we could not be happier. We started with 2 days a week first to make the transition from the day care. Then in January, we put them 5 days a week and what a difference. Their French got so much better, they are fluent now.
The school itself is super clean and very welcoming, the staff is phenomenal and our kids love all the maitresses. They also provide organic and healthy food to the kids which is great.
We can only say good thing about this school and we are so happy that our boys are going there.
A big congratulations to the director

The service provided is absolutely amazing.
The quality of the service, the staff, the interactions with the teachers, the activities, the attention to details, the personalized teaching... are all excellent.
More importantly, our child has been developing and learning at an amazing rate.

We are very happy with APM. Our daughter picked up French in a year with no prior exposure. She likes it so much she asked to get her hair cut like the program director. They have a good balance between play and academics, and offer extended hours. We intend to keep our child there until K.

Our family is extremely pleased that we were able to find a caring and loving french immersion program. Neither my husband nor I speak any french but our son was able to adapt easily to the new environment, especially since he has such loving caregivers like Claire, Coralie, Lais, and Melisse.

In addition, we very much like the curriculum of APM. We noticed that our son was getting bored at his Reggio play based school and really wanted to sit down and learn. Now, APM is his favorite school out of both. I feel bad sometimes when I take him to his english school and he asks to go to his french

We are very happy with APM. Although we are not French speaking parents, we wanted a French immersion program so that our kids could be exposed to a different language at an early age. The school combines the best of the American and French educational system: It emphasizes learning through creative play yet with a certain degree of structure. The teachers are communicative and open to feedback. We have a 5 year and 2 year at the school, and both love it. We experienced very little separation anxiety with the 2 year old, which is a good sign.
