Impressed by the newspaper advertising of great rates, I contacted Wendi at Scout Mortgage.
Natalie processed my paperwork in an efficient manner and I was approved fairly quickly.
Unfortunately, Wendi said that she could no longer honor the rate because of the stock market volatility and that I should wait for it to get better.
The market got better, but she didn't. No contact. Nothing. While I followed up again and got the same story, I had applied at Quicken/Rocket Loans and closed on my mortgage three weeks ago!

I've done 15 mortgages in the last 10 years and this company in my experience was the worst. This is my experience: We started out with Steve, who is one of the owners, who wanted my business for a while, was available and we went through an estimate that closing would be about $3,600. Then the process lingered and the next estimate went up to %4,600. I called several times to speak to him and he's not available to go over the increase as he's too busy with other clients. Well, what am I, not a client? Then the process lingers again and now I get an estimate of $6,500 for closing

Horrible company! Do not trust!
When you do random unwanted solicited calls when we never gave you permission to call me, that is one thing. When I kindly, professionally, and polity ask you to put us on your internal Do Not Call (DNC) list as we have never been interested in your company and never gave you permission to contact us, and you refuse to do so, that is when you make people upset.
Do not call me means I am not interested in your service. After I ask you to place me on your DNC list and you go on a recite your companies website, I will definitely remember your company, in a NEGATIVE

Our entire family has been dealing with the wonderful people at Scout Mortgage for nearly 10 years ! We would highly Recomend them .. Sandy, Steve and John are always available and very easy to chat with . After completing the purchase of 2 new homes and three refinances through Scout mortgage we believe it is safe to say they are very competitive, competent, and a pleasure to deal with . In the fall of 2015, my wife, daughter and I decided to buy a home in Scottsdale, AZ. Yes I had some problems; but we worked through them and the loan did close the next day. One of the partners (Steve) took the time to walk me through what caused all of the issues. They should have been circumvented but I appreciated the honesty. Anything that could have gone wrong on the paperwork did, sometimes that happens. I would recommend this company.
