Restorative Yoga Institute
Seeing a need for more gentle, adaptive, and therapeutic offerings through a trauma informed lens, Jodi and Heather have created Restorative Yoga Institute to offer continuing education to yoga teachers and professionals. Relaxing with awareness is the antidote to stress, bringing the mind-body into a state of balance and healing.

In this 4-day training, you will learn to incorporate trauma informed. Jodi and Heather are extraordinary teachers. They create a safe and sacred environment in which students both learn the principles underlying this practice and experience the incredible relaxation and awareness that this practice engenders.

We share a love for the gentle, adaptive, and therapeutic practices of yoga. Our passion for Restorative Yoga brought us together in 2015 when we offered our first Restorative Yoga Teacher Training in Seattle. Seeing a need for more gentle, adaptive, and therapeutic offerings, through a trauma informed lens, was our inspiration for creating Restorative Yoga Institute.
Deep healing begins when we are relaxed and at ease. In the best of times, it can be difficult to sooth our nervous systems and calm our minds, but even more elusive during times of uncertainty and stress. A sense of peace and feeling of groundedness come when you create your own inner sanctuary. No one can do this for you, but we can support you and help you to create your own inner sanctuary.
Understand how to sequence, cue, and support students, while managing your energy in classes with people with varying needs. Focus on adapting in class and private sessions to accommodate pregnant people, people in larger bodies, and people with health conditions.

Gain confidence in working with individuals with spinal fusions, postural issues resulting from neurological conditions such as Parkinson's, or other injuries that impact their practice.
Join us for an immersion into the art and practice of Restorative Yoga. Resting deeply is at the foundation of Restorative Yoga. To rest, we need to feel fully supported. Resting in fully-supported postures allows for us to let go of tension and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is why the practice of Restorative Yoga is profoundly healing.
Often people come to Chair Yoga classes because they have mobility issues, as well as conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, joint replacements, stiffness and other often age-related or chronic medical conditions. For so many, yoga is new to them. Time and time again, participants are amazed at how the yoga makes them feel in their bodies - they notice more mobility and relaxation after just one session.
