Kundalini Yoga is a science of awareness. To cultivate awareness we use exercise and meditation. There is a great variety of techniques and each class is likely to be different. Students do not need extraordinary strength or flexibility to benefit from Kundalini Yoga. They will have opportunities to challenge themselves to expand mentally physically, spiritually.

It is not primarily a physical workout; it is not just sitting quietly in meditation. It is a potent combination of work on the nervous system, the glandular system and the immune system. Kundalini Yoga has helped many students deal with stress and find relief from many related conditions. Just one class creates a powerful lasting effect.
Services
These contributions go to support teachers, website management, our newsletter and zoom fees. The Kundalini Yoga Center hosts ongoing yoga classes that appeal to all levels of practitioners. Kundalini Yoga is a deep and rich tradition, and you'll find that nearly every class teaches you something new, even after years of practice.
All of our teachers are KRI certified and bring their unique perspective and insight to their classes. Because there is a variety in teaching style we encourage you to try a few teachers and classes to see what suits you best. Awtar Kaur Khalsa has been living, studying, and teaching in Kundalini Yoga ashrams since 1972.
Guru Ram Das Ashram hosts a monthly Gurdwara program 10:30 AM the first Sunday of the month. This experience of chanting is a gift from the Sikh Dharma to everyone. To make an offering please scroll down to the donation button. On the first Sunday of each month all are invited to come to Gurdwara any time between 10:30 and noon.
Our community is in crisis over acknowledging sexual abuse by Yogi Bhajan. See Awtar Kaur's reflections here. These issues have been brewing for many years. Publication of Premka: White Bird in a Golden Cage by Pamela Sahara Dyson has brought the conversation to the fore.

We present this letter as a position and pronouncement regarding the various forms of abuse which several women, men, children and teenagers suffered at the hands of Yogi Bhajan, since the early days of 3HO in the 1960's until his death in 2004.As the decades went by, many persons raised their voices to denounce what they had lived through.
We recognize the need for increased communication, dialogue and transparency about our work and to hear from the Sangat. Our goal for these Sangat Forums is to open an opportunity for us to share with the Sangat, hear from our community, and receive feedback directly from all of you. SSSC Trustees and Staff will be on each of the calls and will be able to share and directly answer questions from the Sangat.

Haha it's funny just saw your page. I'm looking for kundalini yoga for a while and my best friend told me that that is the best kundalini yoga she had ever had! I teach pilates so I'm looking to expend my knowledge about yoga and different ways to trigger your body

I have been attending on Sunday's for almost 2 years. Each instructor I have encountered is professional, and deep into the practice of Kundalini. I adore the head lady there too(forgot her name). If you're looking for peace, fulfillment , and a practice to deepen your intuition. Please attend!

It's been years, yet when I did go, I often had a deep experience. Kundalini yoga emphasizes explosive breathing in awkward poses. I wouldn't eat 3 hours beforehand.

Pahbru Kiret Singh's Tuesday 9am class combined head, heart and spirit for a memorable kundalini yoga class. He is an excellent teacher with clear concise directions and quite knowledgeable about kundalini yoga and the history of the ashram and Yogi Bhajan. The space and it's essence are remarkable!
The gong meditation was excellent!

Kundalini yoga found me in Panama during a winter retreat. I can say that it is something that continues to awaken energy within me. I've been to this center for several visits with a friend and it is a relaxing and welcoming place to practice. One of my favorite experiences is the yogi tea.

I discovered Kundalini yoga about 10 years ago after I experienced a concussion and was looking for meditation to help me focus and improve my concentration. I found a yoga studio near my home and found myself in a Kundalini yoga class. I was amazed at how fantastic I felt during and after the class. My concentration and focus returned and I was able to go back to work. I moved to San Francisco a few years ago and found this yoga center. The classes are fantastic and I took the Level 1 Teacher Training, just to learn more about this very powerful yoga. I find this type of yoga so much more

This is THE place to awaken your kundalini energy. The ashram offers a welcoming, nurturing space to temporarily let go of the daily stresses of life and facilitate your personal spiritual journey. The fire breathing just seems to take you higher when you do it at the ashram, especially if you are fortunate to take a class from Kaitlyn. She is an experienced teacher who guides you through the Kundalini practice with clear intentions, sharing her knowledge and making you feel comfortable as you fire breath the evening away into a higher consciousness. Please, do your mind, body, and soul a favor

This place rocks my chakras. Seriously.

I remember the first time I did a class here. I had total anxiety about attending a class here because when I had tried Kundalini yoga at home, I'd start randomly crying. I was like "I don't wanna be crying randomly in a class with other people!!" I then realized how powerful this type of yoga is.

I popped in and Guru Dev was teaching. She was great. I did what I could to stay present, listen to my body and do the best I could with the kriyas. I left and thought, I found my yoga. I found my yoga studio home.

I've done classes

A great place to go for Kundalini Yoga with a variety of teachers with different teaching styles. It is great because they have a kitchen with Yogi Tea to drink right after class. This is not so good for the night classes, because you will probably be up all
night, but for morning classes, yum, yum, yummy sauce - yes please!

There is also a Sikh Dharma gathering every first Sunday of the month with devotional Kirtan music and Gurbani.

The vibe is really small and intimate. If you are used to big classes, these are a little bit more laid back. Welcome to Kundalini Yoga in the Bay!

Bless this ashram for fulfilling our Kundalini needs! The bay area (esp south bay) is really lacking in Kundalini yoga. Siri Veyda is a true master and a wonderful beam of light. Sat nam!

For the next couple of days after a kundalini set, I often feel cleansed, energized, and relaxed. I became interested in yoga to relax and deepen meditation. I tried a few places and traditions. Compared to hatha yoga, Iyengar yoga, Ashtanga yoga, and Vinyasa yoga, I prefer how kundalini sets exercise my lungs, organs, glands, and nerves. Teachers and sets vary, yet compared to the forementioned styles of yoga, usually we do not do as many stretching, twisting, or strengthening exercises (apart from the abs).

I first visited this house on Waller & Ashbury around 2003. This year when

Great place! I'm from LA & dropped by the ashram for the Friday morning session. Very small and intimate class with very friendly, sweet people. If you haven't tried Kundalini, you really should-- the music is great, the kriya was a challenge, and after, I left feeling like I was walking on a cloud. Sat nam!

I'm hesitant to write about this place because it is that good. I do not even consider myself a Kundalini practitioner, yet this is by far my favorite place to do yoga in the whole city. Please do not come expecting fancy yoga space or even people clad in yoga pants. It's a very cozy feeling place where it is safe to just be. Kundalini has such a deep effect on the body and mind, it is hard to put into words. i find this to be the most therapeutic, uplifting & peaceful yoga around. At the end of the yoga session (again, leave your preconceptions about hatha yoga at the door) the instructor

I have only been practicing Kundalini yoga a few months, but I LOVE it. I go to the Kundalini Yoga Center in The Haight for my classes. The people who teach there are wonderful, friendly and inspirational. I have never felt happier and I highly recommend it for people looking for more than just an exercise class. This is way beyond a physical workout, even though you get that too. I didn't even know what I was looking for, 'till I found it here!

The Kundalini Yoga Center is fantastic. It was quiet and beautiful. The teacher was profound. The class was challenging and energizing. During relaxation pose the gong was used; and, it filled the room with an ethereal flow of sound. Thank you so much!

The Kundalini Yoga Center is the real deal. It is a yoga center and yoga ashram. They serve yogi tea after every class. It is very warm and inviting not to mention that Kundalini Yoga is totally AMAZING! I am pretty sure there is nothing like it on the planet. It basically obliterates stress and turns insecurity off and positivity on. Not quite sure how else to explain it except, if you have been wondering what is missing from your life then get over there and give this a try! A bit different from your run of the mill yoga but you will see and feel the difference afterwards. It was like someone

The Kundalini Yoga Center is a godsend. I was so lucky to find out about this place through my old co-worker Hilary who is an instructor there. Without fail, even if I was up to 5am, I would always make it to the 11am class on the weekends. Kundalini changed my life in an indescribable way. All I know is that I've tried a few centers in NY and nothing compares to the intimate, loving and group setting on Waller Street. I cannot wait to move back to continue my practice!

Kundalini Yoga is mind blowing, reality shattering, and life changing. You will experience consciousness and your body on new levels. This is not your hippy dippy new age Hatha/vinyasa/anusara yoga studio. This place is real, its gritty, its intense, and its sincere. The teachers are amazing, humble, and knowledgable. Sat nam =)

ShhhHHH! The Kundalini center is one of the better kept secrets here in SF. Intimate classes (maybe 12 people max) are held in the ashram (and are more than affordable compared to most yoga studios out there). The community is full of beautiful people. Different teachers hold nightly classes, and some daytime and weekend ones too.

Kundalini yoga will change your life (for the happier) through movement, breathwork, chanting and meditation. at the end of class, we chat and have yogi tea together to ground us back to the earthly plane. Sat Nam!!
