The Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home was incorporated in 1913 as a strorefront at 76th & Halsted Street in Chicago, Illinois. At the time, this was one of the few stand alone funeral homes of its kind, and was to be the first of many to come bearing the "Sheehy" name. The founder Roger Sheehy Sr. was soon joined in business by his three sons; Roger Jr., Jack, and Bob.

Life insurance companies notified, employer of deceased notified, employer pension benefit changes, health care benefit changes, vehicle title transferred and car insurance changes, home title transfer and/or sale and homeowners insurance changes, social security benefits and medicare benefits changes, direct deposit of social security changes with the bank, bank accounts and safety deposit box changes, credit card companies notified, veterans administration benefits, appointments made by deceased should be canceled, medical equipment returned to store and/or agency, attorney appointment, and accountant/income tax appointment.
