Current registration OR vehicle title with a printed name matching the photo ID. (We do not accept signed over titles) OR a valid temporary tag with the printed name matching the photo ID. If the owner is unavailable to be present, he/she may allow another person to pick up their vehicle for them. To do so, we need 1, 2, and 3 above PLUS a written authorization signed by the owner naming the person allowed to pick up the vehicle.

Pretty shady and borderline illegal business, but it's a towing company, so I'm not shocked.
Yesterday, these guys put 24 hour warnings on at least 30 cars with expired registration. I saw one of the guys doing it, and asked him what would happen if the owners couldn't pay the fees and he was almost proud and smug in the way he said the towing company would own the cars after 45 days.
Now, these warnings were put on cars at 3:00 on a Saturday. A day that both the MVD is closed and the towing yard is closed. Both are closed on Sundays as well.
