Dr. Kim Gaines graduated in 1995 from U of D, and 1999 from Virginia Tech with a DVM degree. She has been married for 15 years and has two children. She spends her free time with her family, participating in soccer, softball, piano, choir, 4-H, etc. They also love to spend long weekends in Chincoteague when they can getaway.
A monthly, broad-spectrum parasiticide used to prevent heartworms, as well as treat and control common intestinal parasites including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms. Credelio is a chewable tablet prescribed to provide monthly protection against ticks and fleas and may also be used for the treatment of flea infestations.
Your pet's health is always our number one priority, which is why for most pets we recommend annual wellness exams to ensure that your animal companion remains in good health. If your pet is a senior-over seven for dogs, over nine for cats-we strongly suggest twice-yearly exams and blood screenings.
Young animals are like kids-it's a never-ending job to keep them safe and happy. Vaccinating your pet is a relatively inexpensive but very important way to protect his or her health. In addition to preventing many life-threatening illnesses, vaccinations can prevent diseases prevalent in wildlife and those that can be passed to humans.
Imagine if you never brushed your teeth or had them cleaned. Pretty frightening, right? As you can imagine, things would eventually start to go very, very bad inside your mouth: teeth would rot and decay, gums would become inflamed and infected. Bacteria from those rotting teeth would eventually travel into your bloodstream and could cause other serious health problems.

These guys were excellent. I went there for an emergency, and they were able to accommodate us very quickly. Compared to other pet places I've been to, this one has treated them the fastest, but still has done everything they are supposed to to fix whatever the problem happens to be.
The wait was like half an hour, but the treatment time was done in ten or so minutes and they came back out with my dog right after, unlike other pet places where I usually wait two to six hours just to pick up my pet again after drop-off.
Definitely recommend going here if you're local or looking for a good price

The most sweetest, understanding staff I’ve ever experienced at a Vet. My Baby girl had to pass over the rainbow bridge after 13 years on this earth. I came to pick her up today to find the sweetest card with… everyone’s condolences signed inside of it. It literally brought tears to my eyes! Thank you Dr.Henry and everyone who made this much easier on me during such a hard time. They truly believe your pet is your family and I will forever cherish this office and their staff for their kind words.

I can’t say enough great things about Forest Avenue Hospital. The receptionist when I called was so understanding and after explaining Cooper’s issues said she thought the Doctor would want to see him. She promptly called me back and he had an appointment that day. He is a large cat(23 lb) and not very friendly but the vet and assistants were… incredible! They were so professional and treated Cooper so kindly and with a sense of humor. It was the best experience I’ve had with Cooper and he agrees. He has a respiratory infection and should be fine. So thank you to everyone
