I am a longtime believer in the impact that healthy habits and wellness can have on our lives - physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I knew that there was a mind-body connection when I personally learned the healing powers of yoga, massage, exercise, and nutrition. I've been a yoga devotee since I arrived in San Francisco 20 years ago, and I'm a Certified Massage Therapist.
I earned Master's degrees in Public Health and Social Work, became a Certified Health Education Specialist, and spent many years developing and implementing corporate wellness programs. When life got crazy with my two kids, I decided to combine two things I love - yoga and kids - as a career. I became certified by It's Yoga Kids in 2013, and began teaching yoga to preschool and elementary kids.

Services
I provide in-school enrichment classes and after-school programs at public and private schools in San Francisco. My yoga classes are customized to fit the needs of the students and the staff. Depending on number of students and physical space, I will work with school staff to come up with a program that benefits everyone.
Birthday parties are ~1 hour (including set up) and I bring the yoga mats, music, props, stickers, and a special breathing ball gift for your 3-12 year-old birthday girl or boy. I am happy to discuss personalizing the yoga experience based on theme or other party elements for maximum enjoyment! The base rate is $250 for a SF party of up to 15 children (additional travel and children adjustments negotiable).
Kids can learn ways to stay calm and cope with stress through breathing, balancing, and meditation. I recently became a Mindful Educator through Mindful Schools. This allows me to bring mindfulness to youth to build attention, self-regulation, and empathy.
We all need time to be still and practice mindfulness, but kids with stress have difficulty paying attention, regulating emotion and mood, sleeping, and being ready to learn each day in the classroom.I believe mindfulness can benefit our children in a world of school violence, excessive screen time, and over-scheduled kids and parents.

All three of my children have experienced Teacher Jen's wonderful yoga instruction for more than 5 years ranging in ages from 2-8. I have seen her successfully and gently corral tons of kids at birthday parties to create fun and intentional yoga programs and Little Pretzel Yoga has been a part of all my children's schools. With two active boys and an active girl, I also appreciate her skills in mindfulness and allowing kids to get in touch with their whole body experience. With all that it seems is expected of kids I love to see them take a moment to just BE and experience what that is
