One day when she was 12 years old, Dr. Andrea Carlson and her father heard loud cries coming from the next door neighbor's garage. When they investigated, they discovered a small kitten stuck under the door. The instant that Dr. Carlson pulled the kitten free, she felt an overwhelming sensation-right away, she knew that she was destined to become a veterinarian!
Jen has always been a people person and loves the everyday interactions in the clinic. She enjoys being able to help clients figure out symptoms and what to look for in different cases. Jen started working for a local vet in 2006 and took a break for a few years to work in the regular medical field; missing animals, she was eager to come back into the veterinary field.

Very expensive, I was just told by my wife that she received an email from this place and because I made the comment that they are very expensive, which they are, that they will not do the follow up with my dog that they did surgery on and they have cancelled my other dogs appointment.
This shows a lot of the level of professionalism that they have, you don't like a comment so instead of calling the owner you'll let the dog suffer.
Sad really sad I'm glad I found out now.

I can’t say enough great things about Southlake Animal hospital! The staff is so friendly and the doctors take the time to listen to you. After years of battling allergy issues with my dog, we switched to Southlake and within weeks he was SO much better. Not only have we been able to get his allergy issues under control, but now his quality of life is so much better. My 10 year old is acting like a puppy again! Thank you to the staff at Southlake for all you do!

I normally don't write reviews, but I am thoroughly impressed with Dr. Carlson and her staff. All were very kind and professional. Dr. Carlson is the first vet I've found in this area who actually understands pet nutrition, feeds her own pets a species-appropriate diet, and was able to help me navigate the nutritional needs of my cat. I look forward to learning how eastern medicine can provide solutions to problems where conventional medicine has failed my cat. I wish I would have found this holistic vet much sooner, they are the best kept secret in NWI!
