My experience with Mission Mortgage was about the most professional, efficient and pleasant events I've had in years. After the initial review of my qualifications I was introduced to Nelleen McCormick. My work hours are outside of the normal pattern and I normally sleep during the day; to expedite the application and lending process Nelleen was gracious enough to meet me at my apartment to explain the process and let me know what would be asked of me and what I should expect during this time. His customer service has always been outstanding, and his knowledge and abilities just seem to get better and better. He happily answers all of my questions, provides options, and makes the entire process as convenient as possible. My wife and I recently purchased our first house and were referred to Trent at Mission Mortgage. We had (obviously) never been through this before and Trent walked us through all of the steps. I was constantly getting updates on the status of everything which I really liked. He was very reachable whenever I had a question about the process which made me not feel like just another name on a paper (how I assume I would feel at a major bank). I just had the worst experience with Mission Mortgage in Austin and wanted to pass it on. I'm a listing broker and the buyers agent brought a pre-approval letter from Mission Mortgage and told us to that he could get the loan approved in 2 months. We were reluctant, but agreed. My mistake.

We got scammed. It was the old bait and switch. We were in agreement with all the terms of our loan for the 4 weeks prior to closing and on the day before closing, they told us that the terms had changed and we had to pay them a whole lot more money. We were stuck. It was the day before closing and there was nothing we could do. All the funds we had set aside for repairs ended up going to Mission Mortgage. No time to find another lender. They deceived us in a big way. Please don't waste your time with this company.

I've owned two homes in Austin, and both times I financed them through Mission Mortgage. Mission provides the initial financing and then immediately sells the loan to a national lender. I thought that was weird at first, but I soon came to appreciate having the local customer service up front when I needed it and don't mind making my payments elsewhere now that I don't.
We used Ann Jones here, and she was fabulous. I can't rave enough about her. She is smart as a whip, incredibly patient, and extremely nice. Taking out a mortgage for the first time was a stressful process
