Hi my name is Amy Harris, thank you so much for visiting PHYXlife.com! I built PHYX in Grandville, MI to help people transform lives by implementing healthy habits. I am trying to change the community's view on health and fitness. I want to educate people on why extreme training programs, self-critical mindsets, and unsustainable nutrition programs won't help them reach their goals for the long-term.

Welcome to Amy's Blog! Expect regular posts that share the story behind my fitness studio called PHYX, my fitness journey, as well as mindset tools to help you shift your thinking. After working as an RN in the Emergency Department for years, I stayed at home and worked off and on while having my babies (who are now 12 and 9).
Amy Harris built PHYX in Grandville, MI to help people transform their lives and become the best version of themselves. Amy says, I want to change the community's view on health and fitness. I want to educate people on why haphazard training programs, self-critical mindsets, and cookie-cutter advice won't help them reach their goals.
Amy Harris is a dedicated wife and mother of 2 who opened PHYX in 2016 as a fitness solution for her community. Amy had spent years participating in fitness classes, private sessions, road races, and triathlons, yet still found that she had not reached her goals both physically and mentally. Amy then found strength training, and made it her personal mission to craft a new vision of wellness.
Whether you have been working out for years, or you've never lifted a weight in your life, you will benefit from our group training! Each workout is designed to be scaled to meet your individual needs and fitness level, and our dynamic programming means you'll never get bored with the workouts. Our coaching focuses on proper form, functional movements, and takes place in a friendly and supportive group setting.
For the client who desires total customization, our One to One fitness program provides the most efficient workout and flexibility. In the One to One program you will participate in 2-4 sessions a week that are scheduled with a trainer at your convenience. These hour-long sessions are packed with everything you needed to stay fit with a busy schedule!

I joined PHYX at about 12 weeks post partem hoping to lose the baby weight and get back to my pre pregnancy weight. The gym and staff have exceeded my expectations. I have never had trainers care so much about proper form and mobility. They go the extra mile to personalize your program according to your abilities and know how to push you to the right limits. I love that a new program is created for me every 6 weeks pushing me to meet new goals and making sure my body doesn’t fall into too familiar of a routine. A great place to workout! The owner, Amy Harris, is a very positive encouraging person. No two workouts are ever the same, and we are always being pushed harder, but not at the expense of good form. All of the members are very supportive of each other.

What I love about Phyx is the constant focus on improvement. Not only the focus that the staff have on the clients improving, but the constant focus on improving as a gym. The owner, Amy, is continually looking at ways to improve the experience and results for the clients, and that's a characteristic I admire more than any other.

PHYX isn't just a gym. It's a community. It's a family. When you walk in the door the over all feel us unlike what you are used to. Most gyms can feel cold, uninterested and callus. But that is not the environment you find here at PHYX. Warm, professional, and completely invested in each and every person that walks in. Its the best place to set and reach any goal!

Love the energy of this place! Everyone is always supportive, encouraging and pushes me to try harder each time I come. Classes are always different, so you never get bored. Super clean. I love that I can treat myself to a fresh healthy juice or smoothie after! Highly recommend if you are looking to make fitness fun and challenging again!
