A funeral represents a purposeful opportunity to reflect on the meaning of a life that has been lived and to determine the impact of that meaning for the family and friends. There is no single proper funeral service. It is a time for human sharing in its deepest sense. You and the ones you love are at the very center of the process, and the choices you make will determine its significance for you.
The number of people choosing cremation has increased significantly in the past few years, yet cremation carries a long tradition and remains largely unchanged. Cremation simply expedites the process of reducing a body to bone fragments through application of intense heat. What is done before or after the cremation is up to the survivors, or up to you.
When searching for ways to personalize a funeral service, remember the moments you spent with the person and try to highlight the qualities that she or he are remembered for. Consider hobbies, subjects of interest and places where the person spent much of his or her time. It can help to make lists of their passions, achievements and memories you shared together.
Funerals provide surviving family members and friends a caring, supportive environment in which to recognize the death of a loved one and to share thoughts and feelings about that person. Funerals are the first step in the healing process. It is possible to have a full funeral service even for those choosing cremation.

My parents had pre-paid their funeral expenses which was such a blessing, knowing we were following their wishes to the "T". Everyone we interacted with at the Wakefield Branch was extremely kind, made us feel like family. Heartfelt thanks to Joe, Jimbo, Amanda, Hannah, Blake, et al. What a professional, caring team and we highly recommend their services.

My family and I had a great experience in our time of loss with Blake and everyone at the funeral home. Everything was organized they helped with picking out all of the stuff that we would need and was willing to work with our time of arrangements due to family being out of town. Top notch customer service and a lot different then the past experiences at the funeral home in Wakefield. Thank you again!

My family and I highly recommend Baker & Company funeral Home. Everyone was very helpful in guiding us in the right direction to lay our love one to rest. They went out of their way to make sure things were done the way we wanted. They even came to our house to complete paper work, discuss plans and even took the time to send a text message days after the funeral to check on our family. I would say that is above and beyond. Such a kind and professional business to deal with when losing someone!.
