Man I been coming to jays jewelers buying jewelry for over 10 years, Mr. Chung is one of the most educated, fair, decent, honest, kind I can go on and on describing this man. Bought wedding bands for myself and my fiance and we love it! The owners were so kind and helpful! They gave us a walk through of different rings and materials and explained the benefits, build, and pros/cons for each one and helped us come to a decision. Their customer service was superb and they do complimentary shine and clean if you buy from them. Made ring shopping so easy and will definitely come again!

I feel so fortunate to have found a local jeweler willing to repair some special pieces that I have and love. I brought in a variety of pieces...from favorite earrings - one of which didn't clasp anymore...to a very expensive ruby/diamond ring I purchased in Thailand that needed resetting and cleaned. I took a total of 7 pieces to Jay on Friday - March 13th and picked them up today...Monday, March 16th. The pieces were beautifully restored and Jay graciously cleaned some of my other rings...without charge while I waited. I highly recommend Jay's Jewelers @ L'Enfant Plaza - Washington DC.

Jay and his wife are such sweet and attentive people! I had an engraving done here and it was perfect -- a relatively low cost, and it only took one day! They made sure it was perfect before I made my payment and took it home. Jay even went as far as to clean/shine it and wrapped it up carefully for the journey!

My engagement ring is vintage and irregularly shaped. I first had Jay resize it for me in May 2018. He did it in 30 minutes and gave me the extra piece of gold that he had removed in case I ever needed it to be sized up again.

Then in June 2019 I asked him to make a custom band to match the engagement ring. We talked about what I wanted- tiny diamonds to resemble the diamonds already on the engagement ring. Went to Jay Jewelers earlier this year when I was engagement ring shopping. I spoke with Mr Chung on what I wanted and showed him some pictures and he made exactly what I was looking for. He was also able to get a quick turnaround on the ring once he got the diamond. Will definitely be going back to him for our wedding rings.

Wow, I would give this business zero or negative stars if possible... They took my watch, then claimed I never gave it to them in the first place. Now I am out a watch! BEWARE this jeweler at all costs!!!!! I wish I had seen all the negative reviews before having anything to do with them!

I highly recommend them for repairs and restoration. When I took an art deco diamond ring there to be resized, the jeweler showed me how the white gold had worn off and suggested replating to restore its luster. I did not feel like I was being "upsold" but rather, given additional information to consider. I had the ring replated as well as resized, and the results were beautiful. The work was completed ahead of the time promised, within hours; and the cost was only a couple hundred dollars. What ever you do, do not take your jewelry here to be serviced. I brought my less than 1 year old wedding rings into be rodium plated and specifically asked to have the stones checked. After I picked up the ring I noticed one of the prongs, which were fine when they were dropped off, had broken. I went back the next day and the jeweler denied having anything to do with it and would not offer to repair or provide any refund. I now have to pay another reputable jeweler to do his job and have it fixed.

I took two rings here to be resized and they did an excellent job. After looking around at prices and convenience this was one of the pricier places, but convenience won out.

When I got back my first ring, it looked better than new and was sized perfectly. They did such a good job with my first ring that I brought in the more expensive one. They were able to resize the rings same day. I will be bringing in other jewelry for a cleaning.

I've also had my watch batteries replaced here and again it's more expensive but so convenient.

I have been a customer at Jay's Jewelry for more than 15 years. I recently took some jewelry in to be cleaned and a ring resized. I am always pleased with customer service and the service provided to my jewelry. I also love my recent unique purchase of a rope chain which gets so many compliments! I've traveled the world but Jay is my go to guy for purchase and service of my pieces. I have even taken advantage of their layaway and am always pleased with their relationship they maintain.

Asked me pay $50 to open and dry my watch. The watch is rather inexpensive but has sentimental value.

The jeweler in my neighborhood ended up opening it and drying it for free.

This team was so nice, I asked them to take out links in my new watch and they did, but noticed it closed way to tightly. I walked away and said that it was fine and not to worry. I left and went to pay for a croissant, but couldn't turn my wrist to get into my wallet. I walked back and they not only smiled and fixed it with no issue, they didn't even say "told you so" which makes them all types of awesome in my book. Go there for all of your watch issues!! :)

I had my watch's battery replaced there three months ago. Last week the battery died. I went to the store to complain and the owner took my watch to the back and when he returned he claimed that the battery was 4 years old and was marked with the date that the battery was replaced. I paid to get the battery replaced again but I feel like I am dealing with dishonest people so I will not be going back there.

I've had several jewelry repairs done here, always with satisfactory result and on time.. The staff is able to communicate quite well in my experience. The price for all my repairs seemed reasonable.

I have been going to this store for years. They fix anything very unique staff you get anything done on the spot with reasonable rates having my jewelry fix or watches fixed or changing batteries it doesn't matter what I always am pleased. I highly recommend this shop.

Jay Jewelers is a small jewelry shop in the L'Enfant Plaza underground mall. In my 3-4 visits there, it is my experience that they have imperfect understanding of spoken English and can be quite belligerent in their treatment of customers.

Last week, I dropped off a 15-year old watch that was showing signs of battery failure. When I picked it up the following day, I was told that the entire quartz mechanism has failed, could not be fixed, and must be replaced. The price they quoted was $89. I refused the offer, and took the watch to a neighborhood watch repair shop in DC the next day
