Opened in 2004 by Ken and Amelia Lent, Tenderhearts Preschool offers Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten Enrichment and Summer Camp programs for children 2-5 years old. Each of these programs is designed with developmentally appropriate practices as well as the individual needs of each child. Through a warm and nurturing environment, each child can develop both academically and socially.

Our preschool teachers provide the children with the freedom and instruction to grow and develop while keeping them engaged in various play and educational activities.
Our Pre-K program is designed to reinforce skills learned in preschool, such as independence, following directions, alphabet concepts and fine motor skills as well as introducing the child to new skills such as language, alphabet awareness and basic writing skills. The goal of the program is to help the children become independent learners as they build cognitive and socialization skills.
Our Kindergarten Enrichment program follows and compliments the Mt. Sinai school district and Miller Place School Districts Kindergarten Program for the children who only attend the half-day session. We will continue to foster independence, build self-esteem, strengthen their development and build on necessary academic skills.
Switched my daughter Julissa from a Montessori environment to Tender Hearts and was extremely pleased with the decision. My daughter has learned so much. It is a very caring, structured and creative environment. It has really prep my child for kindergarten. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating and owners Ken and Amelia are wonderful people.
